The Macaulay Child Development Centre is a multi-service agency that helps children reach their full potential in caring families and communities. Established in 1932 as a non-profit, charitable organization, Macaulay promotes the optimal development of children in partnership with their family and community. Macaulay programs share a common commitment to prevention, early intervention and inclusion of children with special needs.

The Access Communications Children’s Fund is a registered charity operated through Access Communications Co-operative Limited to provide assistance to children and youth in need across Saskatchewan. The charity focuses funding efforts in areas which support the following children's needs: health and well being, education and literacy, crime prevention and pathways out of poverty.

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection is dedicated to the protection of all children, educating the public, offering prevention programs and advocating on the behalf of missing and exploited children. Our staff and case workers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide ongoing support to families, social service agencies and law enforcement in regards to missing children’s cases.

Goals: To provide children with a learning environment that will enhance their development, and prepare them for a more successful entry into school and community. To address possible emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties in children through the provision of early identification and intervention strategies. To provide the resources, supports, and prevention interventions to families, thereby enabling the parents to build secure relationships and to enhance parenting skills.

WRA, formed in 1979, rehabilitates injured and orphaned urban wildlife for release back to the wild. Its specialty is native birds but treats small mammals also. WRA speaks to children and adult groups about urban wildlife issues and ways to prevent common injuries. An average of 3,000 patients are admitted to its facility in Burnaby, BC every year.

For more than 15 years, YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre has been engaging and empowering Calgary’s youth to make confident and positive choices surrounding some of the greatest challenges they shall ever face – namely substance abuse, online safety, domestic violence and bullying / gangs. We impart tools, strategies and resources through experiential learning exhibits at the Centre, interactive online resources, and engaging programming. Not only do our programs meet the learning objectives of the grade 6 Alberta Education curriculum, YouthLink also supports the Calgary Police Service – Crime Prevention and Reduction Continuum. Fighting Diabetes We are dedicated to preventing diabetes, contributing to the search for a cure and helping diabetics to realize a better quality of life. Our programs emphasize prevention through education. They include a special focus on adolescents, children, First Nations and other at-risk communities, through pursuit of excellence in diabetes outreach education supported by world-class research and clinical initiatives in paediatric diabetes. Preserving a Legacy We are committed to restoring and preserving the historic site of Sir Frederick’s birth as a publicly accessible, unique venue in which families and visitors from around the world can enjoy a welcoming recreational experience combined with motivational education in the environment in which a great Canadian was born and spent his early years.

Established in 2004, the Canadian Foundation for Dental Hygiene Research and Education (CFDHRE) is a charitable organization dedicated to furthering dental hygiene research and education initiatives. The Foundation funds meaningful research and education projects that advance the existing body of preventative oral health care knowledge and contribute to the oral health and well being of Canadians. CFDHRE relies on the ongoing generous donations of individuals and organizations.

In the struggle against this global epidemic, our expertise is recognized around the world.

Deaf and Hear Alberta is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the accessibility, advocacy, education and communication needs of the Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing populations of Alberta. Our head office is in Calgary, Alberta, with a branch office in Edmonton. Our expertise lies in communication access -- through interpreting, assistive equipment, training and education for hearing loss prevention and management, and strengthening public awareness and understanding.

We are a collaborative, inner-city Winnipeg, 9-site community outreach organization especially reaching marginalized women/families expecting a baby or parenting a baby to 1 year. Health & nutrition from the start are encouraged by welcoming, interactive, practical educational groups and one-on-one support. Healthy low-cost snacks, ready-to-cook Meal Bags for $1.50, childminding at groups, milk coupons (as financially needed), language interpreting at 1 location, & access to friendly nurse, dietitian or outreach workers are offered. Results include: Prevention of low birth weight (LBW) babies, Prevention of FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) Increased breastfeeding and increased protective health factors for babies Increased nutritional and health knowledge Identifying failure to thrive babies Improved parent confidence, knowledge, skills Supported by the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program and Healthy Child Manitoba as well as by donations & sales of educational posters.

Malama Kahalawai is dedicated to facilitating and advancing the goals of the West Maui Mountains Watershed Partnership, whose mission is to protect Maui's water supply and native ecosystems and prevent further degradation through collaborative forest management. Within the 50,000-acre management area of WMMWP are native forests that produce fresh water for three-quarters of Maui Island residents. The healthier these forests, the more water there is for Maui's future.
