Malama Kahalawai is dedicated to facilitating and advancing the goals of the West Maui Mountains Watershed Partnership, whose mission is to protect Maui's water supply and native ecosystems and prevent further degradation through collaborative forest management. Within the 50,000-acre management area of WMMWP are native forests that produce fresh water for three-quarters of Maui Island residents. The healthier these forests, the more water there is for Maui's future.

Connecticut River Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the Connecticut River watershed in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Established in 1991, the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba Inc. (IRCOM) is a not-for-profit agency that offers a host of services to newcomer families, including post-initial settlement, transitional housing, education and recreation programs for children, youth and adults, English as a Second Language tutoring, referrals, and community-based crime prevention. IRCOM operates out of a five-story apartment building in downtown Winnipeg called IRCOM House.

Injuries are the leading cause of death amongst children in Canada. These injuries account for more childhood fatalities than all other causes combined. The majority (almost all) were considered to have been preventable. The Saugeen Valley Children's Safety Village will be an interactive educational facility providing safety programs to school age children and providing them with the knowledge and practical experience when dealing with life-threatening situations.

Around the world two million people a year die from occupational disease. Occupational hazards affect children, families and communities as well as workers. Workplace Health Without Borders is dedicated to preventing occupational disease worldwide. By providing training, mentoring, technical assistance, equipment and other services, we aim to help communities that lack occupational health resources develop the capacity to achieve healthy work environments.

As Canada’s only national charity promoting LGBT human rights through research, education and community engagement, Egale Canada Human Rights Trust has almost two decades of experience working to create a Canada free of homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, thereby preventing discrimination, bullying, and hate crimes based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity so that every Canadian can achieve their full potential unencumbered by hatred and bias.

We fulfill this mission by: Providing food and other basic amenities to persons in need. Establishing, operating and maintaining Orphanages, Elementary and High Schools, and Training facilities for persons in need. Improving the quality of drinking water by constructing wells and water treatment, irrigation and sewage treatment systems. Developing and promoting public health by establishing, operating and maintaining Medical Clinics, for the purpose of educating and instructing the public on the prevention of, and curative measures for health problems.

THE CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION has been established to promote and further the legacy of Captain Paul Watson. To focus on the protection and conservation of the Ocean through direct intervention supported by education, documentation, research activities and partnerships with other NGOs, governments and international institutions like the United Nations. It will be made up of a small team that will prevent any future interference or dilution of the overall vision of Paul's legacy by keeping management and bureaucracy minimal.

As a registered charity, the Children’s Aid Foundation raises funds for programs of the Children’s Aid Society and other child welfare organizations that support children in three critical areas: Education programs that give children a chance to pursue their dreams and build successful lives for themselves, Enrichment programs that provide recreational and cultural opportunities so that disadvantaged children can experience healthy development, and Prevention programs that provide support for families before abuse and neglect begin.

Along with existing resources, we use cultural and intellectual mediation as a driving force for social change and vector of citizen participation, crime prevention, employability, identity strengthening, academic perseverance, social diversity, etc. Our projects and programs have served more than 3,000 beneficiaries. Our accomplishments have earned us the Akosha Fellowship, the Peace Medal, the Feminine Entrepreneurship Challenge and the Coup de Cœur Prize from UQAM ESG.

The mission of Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) is to build people’s power in California’s communities of color and low income communities to achieve environmental health and justice by preventing and reducing pollution and building green, healthy and sustainable communities and environments.  CBE helps residents in urban areas to change the environmental policies and practices that put their health and well-being at risk. CBE utilizes three integrated strategies to impact change in its target communities: community organizing, science-based advocacy, and legal intervention.

Founded in 1976, Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (MassCOSH) engages youth and adult community members as leaders in promoting safe, secure jobs and healthy communities throughout eastern Massachusetts. Through education, leadership development and coalition-building, youth and adults gain the skills and support to address dangerous work conditions and prevent work-related diseases and disabilities. MassCOSH has a special focus on immigrants and other lower-income adults, and young people of color who often work in jobs that are the most unsafe and unhealthy.
