Elephant Thoughts is a registered Canadian charity, founded in 2002 by a group of teachers, principals, and other professional educators. Our mandate is to promote high standards of education worldwide despite economic or geographic barriers, while supporting initiatives which propagate cultural understanding and sharing among school-aged children. We contribute to a state of universal education and literacy by supporting schools, training teachers, and by making new technologies in education and opportunities for continued education accessible. We are a unique charity in that over 80% of our funds are generated by our own initiatives. The organization is built on a thriving business of creating, marketing, and delivering effective educational programs to Canadian educational organizations, schools, museums, community centers, and event planners. Our solid foundation allows for 100% of every donation to go exactly where the doner wishes, none is lost to administration.

WHERE WE HELP...Since 1997 our focus has been in Zambia in south-central Africa, In 2003 Malawi also began receiving assistance, as well. Since 2000 more than 20,000 African students and their communities benefitted through EWB offices in Zambia. HOW WE HELP... We organize gifts of supplies and quality curriculum with a character-building focus. ...Pupil books for the primary curriculum are printed in Zambia. ...We provide annual teacher training, and small honoraria to supplement low wages paid by parents through school committees.
