With learning as its primary focus, the Limestone Learning Foundation raises funds from individual donors, businesses & corporations, service clubs, granting organizations, special events, memorial gifts, legacy gifts (bequests, life insurance), gifts of stocks, etc. Teachers submit applications twice per year for grants to support creative enhanced learning projects which will help make learning come alive for their students. Funding is provided for materials/supplies, minor equipment, specialized reading/math/art supplies etc. for these projects but funding is not provided for regular education expenses such as teacher salaries, regular textbooks/library books, capital improvements, renovations, transportaion costs, etc. - in short, things that your taxes should pay for through the regular School Board budget. To date, more than $1.1 million has been provided to over 460 enhanced learning projects at schools and education centres throughout the Limestone district.

We achieve our mission through four major program areas, targeting youth and educators – in both official languages: 1. Science projects and science fairs – science projects in schools and homes; regional science fairs in every province and territory; the weeklong Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF); and Team Canada representing the country at Intel ISEF, MILSET, and other international youth science competitions and events. 2. Smarter Science – a framework, resources, and workshops for teaching and learning science through inquiry for teachers in grades 1-12. 3. SMARTS – our online community for youth and the adults who support them. 4. School Campaigns – Invent the Future and Youth Science Month – national campaigns that provide teachers in 11,000 schools (every school in the country with grades 7-12/Cégep) with information on inquiry, project-based science, science fairs, and the achievements of Canada’s young scientists.

For more than 17 years, Science Alberta Foundation (SAF) has created and delivered innovative programs that promote science literacy in Alberta. We stand alone in taking science where it’s needed most — to families, teachers, librarians and local organizations; within homes, classrooms and learning facilities; from the largest cities to the smallest towns in every corner of Canada’s fastest growing province. A Canadian NGO with over 50 years of experience, CODE advances literacy and learning in Canada and around the world. With the generous support of its donors, CODE builds literacy by providing schools and community libraries in developing countries with well-written books that children can relate to, and teachers with the skills they need to bring these books to life.

Dunamis Education Society is registered in British Columbia, Canada, as a not for profit society that works primarily through education. This occurs through building schools, and finding opportunities for teachers overseas. Dunamis Education Society exists to meet the needs of those committed to make a difference in our world. The Society of Ontario Freethinkers (SOFREE) is a dynamic secular fellowship that promotes freethought, critical thinking, dignity and equality for humanists, atheists, agnostics, and skeptics. We provide a social network for members, run a video production service that promotes freethought, social justice, critical thinking, and Humanist culture, provide educational resources for teachers of high school world religions courses, support the Good Without God KW publicity campaign of the KW Atheist Alliance.

Our Vision LSF envisions citizens acquiring, through education, the knowledge, skills, perspectives and practices needed to contribute to the development of a socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable society not only for today but for generations to come. Our Approach LSF’s approach is to work together with educators, students, parents, government, community and business to integrate the concepts and principles of sustainable development into education policy, school curricula, teacher education and lifelong learning across Canada and beyond.

Mustard Seed International launches and sponsors ministries that reach children with the Gospel and raises them up as leaders. Our ministries throughout South East Asia and India include the formation and support of Christian schools, an acclaimed teacher-training center, homes for the care of children and community empowerment centers. We request financial support and prayers to enable us to bring transformative Christian education and discipleship to children in need, seeking to transform their entire communities with the hope of Christ.

Dalhousie students work alongside nationally and internationally recognized faculty, who bring the expertise in their field right into the classroom. This inspiring interaction happens across all the diverse academic programs offered at Dalhousie University and results in direct collaboration between students and teachers on exciting projects. These projects range from cutting-edge research and innovation to creative expression, all of which allows students the opportunity to contribute energy and excitement to one of Canada's most vibrant cities.

Charitree organizes, coordinates and participates in children's environmental learning and reforestation projects that involve tree planting. Charitree brings children, teachers, camp directors, and parents together in an effort to get kids outside more to connect with nature and learn how they can make the world a better place. At the present time only 41% of children in Sierra Leone have the opportunity to go to primary school and only 9% go on to attend secondary school due to the lack of financial and educational resources and the lack of schools. The unlucky ones, the ones who do not have the advantages that come with education, are left to suffer and fend for themselves in an unstable environment.
