The mission of Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) is to build people’s power in California’s communities of color and low income communities to achieve environmental health and justice by preventing and reducing pollution and building green, healthy and sustainable communities and environments.  CBE helps residents in urban areas to change the environmental policies and practices that put their health and well-being at risk. CBE utilizes three integrated strategies to impact change in its target communities: community organizing, science-based advocacy, and legal intervention.

Our mission is to take swift and decisive action to protect and restore marine species and their habitats and to inspire people in communities all over the world to join us as active and vocal marine species advocates. The Sea Turtle Restoration Project (STRP), founded in 1989, TIRN's oldest and largest project, works to protect and restore endangered sea turtle populations worldwide in ways that meet the needs of the turtles and the needs of neighboring local communities using grassroots action, multimedia campaigns, hands-on conservation, environmental education, and litigation. STRP's sponsoring nonprofit is Turtle Island Restoration Network or TIRN.

As the national voice for hikers, American Hiking Society helps preserve and protect the hiking trails and natural areas that hikers cherish and seek for exploration, exercise and education.

We are the Southern Environmental Law Center — the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan environmental legal advocacy organization rooted in and focused on the South.Our mission is to protect the basic right to clean air, clean water, and a livable climate; to preserve our region’s natural treasures and rich biodiversity; and to provide a healthy environment for all. The Mission of The Mayfly Project is to support children in foster care through fly fishing and introduce them to their local water ecosystems, with a hope that connecting them to a rewarding hobby will provide an opportunity for foster children to have fun, build confidence, and develop a meaningful connection with the outdoors.
