SOS Children's Villages supports orphans and vulnerable children in several ways. We provide long-term,family-based care in our SOS Villages for over 75,000 children and youth worldwide. Each child is welcomed into a loving family environment and a supportive community in which to grow. We provide the education, training and life skills to help them become active, empowered young adults. In addition, SOS works with communities to help prevent child abandonment and to aid families struggling with poverty and disease through our SOS Family Strengthening Programmes. SOS Children's Villages supports over 1,000,000 children and their families through these family strengthening programmes, our schools and medical centres.

The Children's Hosptial of Eastern Ontario Foundation raises funds for CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) by soliciting donations, receiving planned gifts, bequests and grants and by organizing special events and lotteries.

The Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion Foundation (the Foundation) was established in 1989 as a means for stewarding donated funds in support of the residents living at the Kiwanis Pavilion. The Foundation provides financial support for special projects, programs and improvements to the Kiwanis Pavilion over time.

The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, affectionately known as SickKids Foundation, is the largest non-governmental granting agency in child health in Canada. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation has granted over $300 million to The Hospital for Sick Children and over $60 million to researchers across the country. Through its National Grants Program, SickKids Foundation is the only granting program with a national, multi-year initiative to study two understudied but important areas of child health: the role of complementary and alternative health care and child health, and to study home care and children and youth. We have invested our community’s contributions in outstanding patient care, research and education. We believe there is no one else in Canada as dedicated as we are to eliminating the gap between what is happening in child health research, education and training, and what should be happening.

Our mission is to inspire and mobilize the community to support relentless innovation in research, teaching and care at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, an internationally-renowned pediatric centre affiliated with the McGill University Health Centre providing highly-specialized healthcare.

Burnaby Hospital Foundation raises funds to support the medical equipment needs of Burnaby Hospital. Burnaby Hospital is a 300 bed, community based, acute care hospital caring for over 230,000 people every year. Our Emergency department is one of the busiest in the Province of BC and treats over 45,000 adults and 12,000 children annually.

Hospice Calgary embraces children, teens and adults who are coping with life-threatening illness, sudden or expected death. At Sage Centre and Rosedale Hospice - our two centres of care - our specialists provide: 1) individual counselling 2) group support 3) workshops 4) 24-hour end-of-life care. At Chai Lifeline Canada we are passionately devoted to alleviating the burden of those facing medical challenge. Wellspring is open to all cancer patients, their families and care givers, all of whom are known as members. Wellspring is welcoming and comfortable in nature, external to hospitals or treatment centres, and is devoid of any “institutional” feeling. Volunteers and group leaders providing programs at Wellspring deliver only cancer support services and not medical treatment or medical therapies, nor services for patients with diseases other than cancer. Wellspring receives no government funding and offers all programs and services at no charge to our members and without referral.

Cassie and Friends was established in 2007 in Vancouver by parents, David Porte and Debbie Setton, along with five other families all affected by Juvenile Arthritis. Cassie was 18-months old when she woke up one morning unable to walk. Soon after, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Idopathic Arthritis. Dealing with the devastating news of his daughter's condition, David was inspired to raise funds for juvenile arthritis by running in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge 5km. He raised over $25,000 in the first year. Since then, through the genrousity of many individuals, families and corporations, Cassie and Friends has raised over $450,000 in support of world-leading research, educational programming, child and family support services and much-needed medical equipment for Juvenile Arthritis sufferers. We look forward to growing our support of the kids and families who suffer daily from this painful disease - and ultimately improving their quality of life and expected outcomes.

Our trained volunteers and professional staff provide practical care and support to individuals and their families dealing with life-threatening illness in their own homes. Care plans are flexible and designed for each family -- may include such services as respite care, caregiver support and emotional support. The Living Room Program is offered one day each week to provide respite for families and life affirming activities for clients. One to one grief counselling and support groups for kids, teens and adults enhance bereavement follow-up offered to families served by Evergreen as well as the general public. Bereavement resource mailings are also available on a monthly basis. A resource library is available at the Evergreen office. Services are offered at no charge to the client, but government funding provides only a small portion of our budget.

BC Children's Hospital Foundation raises money to support excellence and innovation in care, treatment and research and BC Children's Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children and the Child & Family Research Institute. The Foundation's activities include major gift fundraising, planned giving and a wide variety of annual programs. As steward of philanthropic donations to Children's Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre and the Child & Family Research Institute, the Foundation issues charitable receipts and ensures donations are allocated to the areas to which donors have designated their support. The Foundation is currently engaged in the $200-million Campaign for BC Children to build a new children's hospital and ensure all BC children have access to a consistent standard of pediatric care.
