Background: After a tragic car accident in 2011 that resulted in having an 18 year old young teenager to be a wheelchair user; his mother along with a group of 13 friends decided to make a difference when it comes to physical disability in Egypt and the Middle East after the challenges they faced and still are. Vision: To be the leading example developmental foundation in Egypt, Middle East and Africa that embrace wheelchair/physical disabilities with emphasis on endless possibilities. Mission: Alhassan Foundation is determined to providing "tailored solutions", facilities, re-habilitation and re-occupation for humans on wheelchairs, and their families to overcome their challenges and make best use of their different abilities. 1. Nurturing "YES I CAN" attitude among wheelchair users and their families 2. Changing society's mindset regarding viewing a wheelchair user as "disabled" to be "differently abled" 3. Involving the right mix of corporations, governmental entities, global organisations and individuals to achieve our vision. 4. Provide a franchised rehabilitation centres similar to those in Germany & UK. 5. Represent a franchised wheelchair factory. 6. Quality rehabilitation and reoccupation for wheelchair users changes individuals to be of value added to society rather than a burden. 7. Translate/support writing books that represent physical challenges to be reference for others in Egypt & Middle East. 14. Humans with challenges deserve not only to live, but to live happily.
