Atlanta Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. That promise is now Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $2.2 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
cc-TDI runs preclinical and translational research to identify disease-specific treatments for childhood cancers and advance promising therapies into clinical trials. The institute focuses on rare and high‑risk pediatric tumors and shares data/resources to accelerate drug development so more childhood cancers become survivable.
The Cancer Association of Darke County provides local support, information, referrals and practical assistance to Darke County residents affected by cancer. They focus on patient education, help with transportation and supplies, and volunteer-driven services to reduce barriers to treatment and care.
HEADstrong Foundation supports people and families affected by cancer by providing practical quality-of-life services — including complimentary lodging (Nick’s House), financial assistance, care packages, and patient support programs — and by funding related research and awareness efforts. The organization focuses on reducing the logistical and financial burdens families face during specialized cancer care.
