The Alzheimer Society of Ontario’s Today’s Help, Tomorrow’s Cure Campaign is reaching out to the almost 150,000 Ontarians who have Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD). By 2031 that number will increase by nearly 127%. That means that we will be caring for over 175,000 cases in 2010 and by 2031 there will be over 340,000 cases in the province. Our goal is to help persons with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, their families and caregivers today, while engaging in research to put an end to this devastating disease. With your support we fund nationwide research to address the psychological and social aspects of AD such as care giving, family support and long-term care as well as biomedical investigations to find causes and treatments. The Alzheimer Society of Ontario helps local chapters deliver services by providing consultation as well as financial and educational support. In addition, we assist in program development, fundraising and supportive public policy.

The Alzheimer Society of Toronto is dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with dementia, their families and their caregivers, by providing support, information and education at all stages of the disease, and by funding research and advocating for better dementia care services. The Canadian Paraplegic Association (Saskatchewan) is working every day to help make communities more inclusive for individuals with physical disabilities. The CPA relies on the support and generosity from organizations and numerous volunteers who share an interest in supporting those with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities which limit mobility. The CPA has a variety of programs and services, including peer support, education and employment, counseling, community advocacy and information services for individuals, their family and support groups. Hospice Northwest is a non-profit charity operating in Thunder Bay and area since 1987. The organization was founded with the sole purpose of providing compassionate support to persons living with a life limiting illness and their caregivers. Services throughout the District of Thunder Bay are provided primarily by volunteers, congruent with provincial and national standards of practice.

Led by our dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation will strive to help ensure the best healthcare for the people of Halton Hills. Our success in raising funds for the Hospital will be based on trust built through accountability, cost-effective programs, and a donor-centred approach to fundraising, recognition and stewardship. Our volunteers and staff demonstrate caring, empathy and compassion with a view to providing personal service and establishing long-term relationships with members of the community. We use your gifts to fund medical equipment our patients need that is not funded by the Ministry of Health. Your generosity helps us buy things such as surgical instruments, equipment for the ER, and important items required by our Obstetrics Department.

Colorectal cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death overall for men and women in Canada. Approximately 22 500 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year and sadly 9 100 will die of the disease. Despite these shocking numbers, the disease is still not well known or well understood. Current scientific literature indicates that up to 90% or more of colorectal cancer can be successfully treated or prevented through early detection and removal of pre-cancerous polyps and through diet and regular exercise.

AIDS Vancouver Island provides comprehensive, accessible and effective education, prevention, care, treatment and support services to residents of Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands. Our vision is of a world free of HIV and hepatitis C. Until that time, those most at risk in our community continue to be marginalized - not only by their disease, but also by stigma and discrimination, poverty, and despair. As we fight these diseases, we join with those we serve to provide services based on consideration and respect and to provide visibility and a voice in the community.

Our services extend beyond simply providing food. Our programs are designed to build skills that help people move out of the cycle of poverty. We offer a full range of programs within our facility including: the provision of Emergency Food Assistance, the Food Co-operative program, Infant, Youth, Adult and Seniors Program and Employment Readiness Programs. Programs provided by outside agencies available at our facility include: Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Waterloo Region Community Legal Services and ACCKWA.
