The Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta was created to provide the benefits of the human-animal bond that is well documented in medical, psychological and social literature. At all stages throughout our lives animal companionship can stimulate sensitivity and learning. In adolescents, involvement in animal assisted activities (AAA) can add a perspective not usually available in many non-pet home or classroom situations. Interaction with companion animals can involve values, morals, modes of behaviour, attitudes and self-examination as well as skills. While the focus is on the human-animal relationship, other aspects including environmental issues, personal health and safety and cooperative learning may also be associated. Members volunteer their personal time along with their pets, providing animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted activity programs in hospitals, nursing homes, mental health and corrections programs to name a few.

Catholic Hospice is dedicated to glorifying God by providing compassionate care to those individuals facing life-limiting illness, while affirming the dignity and sanctity of human life. Catholic Hospice respects that life is a journey with changes, transitions, rites of passage, and cycles of nature. Through prayer, education and humble Godly service, Catholic Hospice gives testimony that dying is a natural part of living.

"To provide a centralized statewide agency with auxiliary support services for deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, late-deafened persons, including persons with hearing losses and those hearing persons with loss of voice, regardless of race, age, and gender such that they can be provided opportunities to succeed in areas of employment; education; housing; economics; and independence; and also be provided legal and fair judicial representation which are seldom provided. Such opportunities and legal rights are currently not obtainable or are being denied."

The YMCA is a worldwide fellowship dedicated to the growth of persons in spirit mind and body and in a sense of responsibility to each other and the human community. Ottawa Therapy Dogs (OTD), was established as a chapter of Therapy Dogs International (TDI) in early 2000, and in 2003 was incorporated in Ontario as a not-for-profit charity. In 2006 it became an independant organization, locally administered. OTD aims to offer both Animal Assisted Activities (AAA) & Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) to those in the community who can benefit from the therapeutic effects of the human-animal bond. Our mission, "So the World May Hear," is about bringing understanding between people through caring and sharing. We believe caring develops trust and by sharing we find out humanity. We believe by growing engagement in this cause that we can increase tolerance and respect for life. Our goal is to pursue our mission with commitment so that future generations can live in a world with more caring and peace.

Canadian Naturopathic Foundation The Canadian Naturopathic Foundation (CNF) is a charitable organization supporting naturopathic medicine in Canada. Research Fund This fund facilitates research related to naturopathic medicine, which the board considers beneficial to the profession. The CNF must retain some rights of ownership of the research. Public Education Fund This fund is used to promote public education and awareness of naturopathic medicine. Scholarship Fund Scholarship recipients must be a Canadian student in full time study at an approvied Naturopathic college and must meet specific criteria.

Our organization is a non-sectarian, mainly volunteer registered charity. Our members come from many walks of life but share the belief that every individual has the right to expect the best possible quality of life until the very end of life. People who are dying have very special needs which are not being met in spite of the vast resources of our health care system. These needs can be met by the concept of hospice. Hospice cares for the whole person and respects individual choice in defining the quality of life.

Through every step of every journey, we offer compassion through extraordinary care, hope through innovative services, and inspiration through endless encouragement. Suncoast Hospice is a major affiliate of Empath Health, an integrated network of care. Suncoast Hospice is strengthened by strong administrative and financial support from Empath Health receiving services such as human resources, purchasing, marketing, grants development, information services, fundraising and regulatory compliance/quality management.

To improve the human experience in healthcare communities by honoring the work of exceptional caregivers. This results in not only an enjoyable patient experience, but better quality of care for patients, residents, and families. The Ceca Award Program serves as a network for healthcare communities to demonstrate their commitment to core caregiving values, while ensuring staff are engaged and feel appreciated. Research shows these critical elements lead to higher safety and security, better staff retention, and improved care delivery.
