The BC Cancer Foundation is the bridge that connects philanthropic support and research breakthroughs in cancer knowledge. As the fundraising partner of the BC Cancer Agency and the largest charitable funder of cancer research in this province, we enable donors to make contributions to leading-edge research that has a direct impact on improvements to cancer care for patients in British Columbia. Kidney Cancer Canada is a charitable patient-led support organization established to improve the quality of life for patients and their families living with kidney cancer. Kidney Cancer Canada advocates for access to new treatments, provides support and information to patients, funds much-needed research, and works to increase awareness of kidney cancer as a significant health issue.

To eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising and innovative childhood cancer research that might otherwise go unfunded.

Colorectal cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death overall for men and women in Canada. Approximately 22 500 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year and sadly 9 100 will die of the disease. Despite these shocking numbers, the disease is still not well known or well understood. Current scientific literature indicates that up to 90% or more of colorectal cancer can be successfully treated or prevented through early detection and removal of pre-cancerous polyps and through diet and regular exercise.

Lung Cancer Canada (LCC) is the only charity whose sole mission is to raise awareness, provide patient focused information and offer peer support to everyone touched by lung cancer. Founded in 2002 by caregivers and healthcare professionals who were concerned about the lack of information, treatment options and support, LCC has grown to be the nationally recognized source for reliable, non judgemental services and lung cancer information. Through the first Canadian patient focused Lung Cancer Resource Centre and Library, LCC offers a variety of resources for information and peer support free of charge to anyone in Canada. Governed by a volunteer Board of 12 Directors and supported by a Medical Advisory Committee, LCC is a volunteer driven registered charity. All Committees and Task Forces are made up of LCC volunteers. Our volunteers are medical professionals, caregivers, survivors and others touched by lung cancer.

About PROCURE Founded in 2003 by Marvyn Kussner, PROCURE is the only charitable organization exclusively dedicated to the fight against prostate cancer through research, outreach, education and support for men affected by this disease and their families. In Quebec, 12 men per day are diagnosed with prostate cancer, thus 4600 men per year.

Why Research? Why Give? Since the discovery of the human genome, cancer research has taken major strides forward. In the last twenty years, researchers have accumulated an impressive amount of data that are helping us to understand better the processes leading to cancer, as well as the means of preventing, controlling, and curing it. Cancer is a complex disease that shows up in more than 200 various forms. The scale of the task is monumental and the needs in research are enormous. Our understanding of the disease at a genetic and molecular level will allow us to save innumerable lives.
