Through the Foundation, we provide many services that are not covered by government funding. While the Ministry of Children and Youth Services provides funding for core child protection services, it does not provide direct funding for many abuse prevention and enrichment programs that are urgently needed by our children and families. Many of the most effective programs for child abuse prevention receive no financial assistance through provincial funding of the Durham Children’s Aid Society. Your support will go a long way in helping to build a future for our children. It is because of the support of the community that we have been able to extend a helping hand to those children in need, helping to break the cycle of abuse and neglect, and to foster the healthy development of youth into socially responsible adults.

A community based AIDS Organization working from a harm reduction approach primarily with People who inject drugs, people with HIV/AIDS Hepatitis C and women's gender issues. Low threshold life skills group, needle exchange program, positive living program, prevention, education and community development programs.

The cornerstone of hospice and palliative care is the belief that individuals and families coping with incurable and progressive illness should be cared for compassionately. Hospice by the Bay's mission is to alleviate pain; to prevent and treat conditions that might otherwise threaten the quality of life; and to provide support to the patient's family and loved ones, including grief counseling for adults, teens and children.

We are a registered Canadian charity dedicated to raising funds, awareness and support for child and youth mental health issues. We engage in a variety of mental health public education and prevention initiatives, and also support the Circle of Wellness Program and a Walk-in Counselling Clinic. All funds raised by the Foundation remain here in our community.

For over 27 years in Durham Region, Girls Inc. has helped girls at-risk achieve their full potential. We've provided thousands of girls knowledge, skills, and attitudes to overcome social, emotional, and economic challenges in order to achieve their full potential. Girls who participate in Girls Inc. programs: Grow self-esteem that carries over to home, school, and the community; Develop sound decision-making and communication skills; Assert themselves as confident individuals throughout their lives; Build key leadership and strong work skills; Create meaningful, supportive peer groups. Programs cover a variety of topics such as: - Body image and self esteem - Bullying and violence prevention - Health & relationships - Peer pressure - Substance use prevention - Science, math & technology - Financial literacy - Sports participation

Cribs for Kids works to prevent infant sleep‑related deaths by teaching parents and caregivers safe‑sleep practices and by providing portable cribs and safe‑sleep kits to families who otherwise lack a safe place for their babies to sleep. The organization also supports partner/hospital training and offers bereavement resources for families affected by infant loss.

Sauti Moja links donors to the community initiatives of indigenous people, like the Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania. These initiatives include education of vulnerable girls and children, HIV/AIDS prevention, and providing livestock to widows and single mothers. Local leaders have the power and ability to change their lives. We partner with complementary skills and additional resources to ensure their success!

Our mission is to educate the public and medical community about preventing and reversing multiple causes of memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease, and to advocate for new testing and treatment protocols. To accomplish our mission, we use live presentations, social and multimedia outreach, online resources, and a collaborative network of like-minded individuals and organizations to spread the good news.

Children’s Harbor provides family-style residential homes and in‑home family counseling to keep siblings and pregnant/parenting foster teens together, prevent unnecessary removals, and help youth who age out of foster care transition to independence. They focus on strengthening families in Broward County and offering therapeutic, housing, and wrap‑around supports for youth and young adults.

The Mental Illness Foundation’s actions are crucial: it refers to resources, raises awareness, demystifies taboos, informs about symptoms and finances research.
