We have a rich history of serving those with vision impairments in Delaware that dates back to 1909 when we were originally formed as the Commission for the Blind, by our founder Reginald Van Trump. In 1948 the Commission split into two agencies to better serve the blind, and we were officially incorporated as Delaware Association for the Blind and created as a private not for profit 501 (c)(3), the second entity became Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired, the oldest state agency in existence. In 1957, Delaware Association for the Blind purchased a property at 800 West Street. In 1968, the Association also purchased 802 West Street. The West Street property was sold in 2015. In 1957 Landis Lodge was donated to Delaware Association for the Blind. It was originally built in 1930 on Mrs. Irenee DuPont’ estate. When she donated the building it was moved to Newport Gap Pike. As a result of a capital campaign it has since been restored and today is utilized as the headquarters for our organization. In 1957, Delaware Association for the Blind acquired the Sunnybrook building from Emily Bissell Hospital to house programs for children with visual impairments. Sadly, in 2015 the Sunnybrook building was demolished as a result of flood caused by an extreme freeze that occurred in January, 2015. In 1968 a swimming pool to the Newport Gap Pike property. In 2007, Delaware Association for the Blind, increased the acreage of the property on Newport Gap Pike purchasing property from the State of Delaware. In 2015 Delaware Association for the Blind amended its corporate documents and changed their official name to BlindSight Delaware, Inc. Today BlindSight Delaware, Inc. proudly serves over 17,600 visually impaired people who live, work and play in Delaware.

Operation Eyesight Universal is an international development organization dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness. Since 1963 this organization has brought sight-restoration and blindness-prevention treatment to millions of people in the developing world. Using an innovative model of hospital-based community eye care, Operation Eyesight seeks to bring high-quality, sustainable eye care to people most in need.

The mission of Delta Gamma Center is to help children who are blind or visually impaired reach their full potential through family-centered, specialized services, and community support.

Guide Dogs of America empowers people who are blind and visually impaired to live with increased independence, confidence and mobility by providing expertly matched guide dog partners.

Sightsavers' vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes, and where vision impaired people participate equally in society. Sightsavers' mission is to eliminate avoidable blindness, and make sure those whose sight can't be restored receive the support they need to live independently by providing education, support and training. We work with local partners in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Caribbean.

New Vision for Independence is committed to excellence in providing rehabilitation, community education, and support services for people with low vision or blindness and their families to promote independence, acceptance, and self-confidence.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, MLV Foundation's mission is to connect the visually impaired and blind in order to enhance lives, encourage independence, and expand awareness, beginning in Oklahoma.

Seva Foundation works to prevent blindness and restore sight worldwide. Our programs build the capacity of underserved communities to provide comprehensive and high-quality eye care that is accessible by all.

Hope in His Vision exists to foster hope and enrich the lives of the blind and visually impaired living in situations of poverty and exclusion through providing basic needs and opportunities to learn of God's Vision for their life.
