The Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) is an international leader in medical research on Canada’s most debilitating chronic disease. Recovery Acres is a 34 bed treatment facility in Edmonton, Alberta helping adult men recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment for those who wish to make the commitment and put in the work necessary to change their lives. Through life skills and addiction awareness modules, individual counselling and 12-step work, Recovery Acres helps men through the early stages of addiction recovery, building relapse prevention skills and the community supports necessary to eventually transition back into the community.
Over the last 30 years, The Foundation Fighting Blindness has funded dozens of research discoveries to identify the causes of genetic forms of blindness. Today, these discoveries have helped bring scientists to this very exciting time in vision research. Today marks the first time that a treatment exists to prevent vision loss and restore some vision for those with an eye disease called 'wet' age-related macular degeneration (AMD) - and the first time human trials exist to reverse blindness in certain patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP).

Our mission is to provide grants to Massachusetts institutions performing research related to the prevention and cure of eye-related diseases.MLERFi has helped to establish three major research centers in Boston: the Howe Laboratory at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Laboratory at Boston University Medical Center, and the Lions Laboratory for Genetic Research at Schepens Eye Research Institute.MLERFi awards nearly $1 million in grants annually, funded completely by donations to our giving campaigns. Since 1951 we have provided grants totaling over $33 million.

The Fondation De la Visite offers free at-home support to pregnant women and parents of newborn children in the 6 following districts of the Montreal area : Bordeaux-Cartierville, Côte Saint-Luc/Hampstead (territory of the CSSS René-Cassin), Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Lachine/Dorval, Montreal-North and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Five objectives lead the preventive action: break the isolation of local families and from abroad, increase parental skills, improve the parent-child relationship, facilitate the integration of immigrant families and ensure the quality and effectiveness of the intervention with the families.
