Family Plus/Life Solutions (formerly Family Services Saint John, Inc.) has been serving the Saint John area since 1929. The Agency is a private, not-for-profit organization helping men, women, children and families manage the challenges of today's living conditions. As well as serving the general public, Family Plus also holds contracts with provincial and federal government departments, for whom the Agency provides various professional services. We also contract with many businesses in New Brunswick to provide Employee and Family Assistance Programs. Our Agency works in conjunction with the other Family Service agencies in Canada, as well as being a member of Family Service Canada.

L.I.F.E. Recovery is an acronym for ‘Living In Freedom Everyday’. This facility begins by looking at the causes – the roots – of addiction: the heart. It begins with the understanding that addicts are caught in the grip of an overwhelming compulsion and that only with God’s power and their own will can they be set free. Life Recovery, a charitable, non-denominational, women only facility, takes a positive and holistic approach to overcoming an array of addictions. As a registered charity, the organization depends heavily on sponsorships and donations to carry out its programs. By means of recognized programs, such as Alcoholics- and Narcotics Anonymous, as well as, a comprehensive Life Skills program and intense group and one-on-one Christian counseling, L.I.F.E Recovery hopes to rehabilitate the whole person – spirit, soul and body.

Since 1991 Nanaimo Community Kitchens has provided access to economical, nutritious food for families and individuals living on a restricted income. Through cooperative meal planning and preparation, participants in the program gain knowledge and skills in cooking, budgeting, shopping and nutrition. They learn how to manage their food dollars wisely to bring home meals to their families, which are prepared in a safe and supportive environment. Our programs adjust to meet the needs of participants. We work with a variety of clients including single parents, pregnant women, parents, seniors,adults with physical and/or mental challenges, First Nations, and recent immigrants. Participants feel supported by the group and more connected to their larger community.

For over 100 years The Elliott Community has cared for and served seniors in Guelph. We have grown to become the only not for profit home for seniors in Guelph to offer five levels of care: Life Lease Suites, Retirement, Retirement Plus, Respite, and Long-Term Care. Our residents have made significant contributions to their communities. Our residents are war veterans, service men and women, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. They are philanthropists, factory workers, ministers, farmers, doctors, industry leaders, visionaries and so much more. They have shaped their communities and our Country. It is their generation that formed many of the services and systems we rely on and utilize today.

If you or someone you know is a survivor of sexual assault, we can help. We offer a 24 hour crisis and support line for survivors (female or male) of sexual violence, as well as friends and family members of survivors. Mooseheart is a residential childcare facility, located on a 1,000-acre campus 38 miles west of Chicago. The Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school. Dedicated in July 1913 by the Moose fraternal organization, Mooseheart cares for youth whose families are unable, for a wide variety of reasons, to care for them. Some have lost one or both parents; others are living in environments that are simply not conducive to healthy growth and development. Whatever the reason, the men and women of the Moose, through unparalleled generosity and volunteerism, furnish the resources necessary to care for children in need. The Moose fraternity provides children with a wholesome home-like environment and the best possible training and education.

Move it Nation, Inc. is a health, well-being, and leadership 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to empower youth to move their minds, bodies and souls. Collectively, we motivate, educate and inspire the future generation to live well: physically, mentally and emotionally.OUR FOCUSOur focus is well-being particularly among multicultural, urban youth. Recent research has shown that women and adolescent girls of African descent are disproportionately affected by chronic disorders such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and are more physically inactive than their racial or ethnic counterparts.In response to this, we have narrowed our focus with programs and interventions for this population. Our secondary focus is education and enrichment among youth in Southern Africa.

The mission of New Hope Housing is to provide homeless individuals and families shelter and the tools to build a better life.Founded in 1977, New Hope Housing is an innovative, award-winning nonprofit agency in Northern Virginia providing shelter, permanent supportive housing, outreach and prevention assistance, and support services for homeless families and single adults. New Hope Housing is committed to finding creative and lasting solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by offering homeless men, women, and children the services they need to change their lives and succeed. We believe that each individual success story contributes to a stronger, healthier community for all of us. New Hope Housing operates programs in Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria, and Falls Church.

The Betel Home Foundation was founded by a small group of Icelandic Lutheran Women who "dreamed a dream". Through their efforts the first Betel Home opened its doors to nine residents on March 1, 1915 in rented quarters at 354 William Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Later in 1915 the "Home" was moved to permanent quarters in Gimli where over the years it expanded until it housed 95 residents. In 1990, a new 80-bed facility opened on this site. It was realized that there was a need for a second home thus in 1966 a new Home was built in Selkirk and was expanded upon in 1970. Currently Selkirk is "Home"to 91 residents. Breast Cancer Action Montreal (BCAM) is a non-profit activist/advocacy group directed by women who have been sensitized to the trauma of breast cancer (affecting themselves or someone close to them) and who are committed — long-term — to erasing the disease. The focus of breast cancer research must move beyond its current emphasis on treatment to also embrace a serious search for the causes of the disease and its prevention. BCAM promotes and supports the adoption of the Precautionary Principle as a guideline for action. The Precautionary Principle is a safety-first premise that states that, when there are reasonable scientific grounds for believing a process or product may not be safe, even when cause-and-effect relationships are not fully understood, preventive action must be taken.
