The mission of the NOCC is to save lives through the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer and to improve quality of life for survivors and their caregivers. Nearly 19,800+ women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 12,800+ women die from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early when the cancer is confined to the ovary, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent. This is why it’s imperative that the early signs and symptoms are recognized not only by women, but by their families and the healthcare community.

“Maanavseva" (Service to Humans) is a Registered Non-Profit with a mission to fight malignancies including breast cancer among rural women in Indian villages. The mission is achieved through activities such as educating, creating awareness, conducting preventive examinations and mammogram screenings and facilitating the hand-holding of rural women with necessary follow-up and treatment.Maanavseva intends to implement this mission by adopting one village at a time and conducting 100% screening of all village women as per the health guidelines and implement follow-up on a sustained basis. The short term focus is to create a successful process for a cluster of villages that is replicable and sustainable. Maanavseva will achieve this goal through conducting pilot studies in villages, identify, resolve and document the challenges involved and arrive at a workable and sustainable model. The long term focus is to expand the model to several clusters of villages through sponsorship of corporations, local bodies and other Governmental Schemes. Most prevalent cancers for rural women can be cured by early detection and appropriate treatment. If these cancers are detected early, the cost is less, treatment is less invasive, survival rates are higher and the quality of life is better. Therefore we believe that by creating awareness about these cancers and early detection through mammogram and other screenings is extremely important and is the only way to win the war on breast cancer.

METAvivor is dedicated to the specific fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. At the time of METAvivor’s founding, no organization was dedicated to funding research for the disease and no patient groups were speaking out about the dearth of stage 4 cancer research. While more and more people have taken up the cry for more stage 4 research, METAvivor remains the sole US organization dedicated to awarding annual stage 4 breast cancer research.

Our mission is to find a effective treatments and ultimately a cure for fragile X syndrome, the most common inherited cause of autism. We directly fund research grants and fellowships at top universities around the world. FRAXA was founded in 1994 by three parents of children with fragile X. Fragile X Syndrome is the most common inherited cause of autism and intellectual disabilities. It affects 1 in 4000 boys and 1 in 6000 girls worldwide, and one in 260 women and 1 in 800 men are carriers. Treatments for fragile X are likely to help people affected by related disorders including autism, Alzheimers, and many other brain disorders.

The Calgary Food Bank is a food distribution hub. We provide quality emergency food directly to Calgarians to meet their individual needs (prenatal, homeless, households with children, etc). We also collect food donations for distribution to other charities (including the Mustard Seed, the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, the Salvation Army and women’s shelters).

Our primary health care team of highly skilled health care professionals specializes in the health and wellness needs of racialized women. Our services are fully accessible and designed to address the barriers that prevent us from being healthy.

The mission of The Women's Home is to build communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability. The Women's Home has worked to build whole lives in the Houston area since our creation in 1957. Our services focus on vulnerable households with a special emphasis on women and families. We have four unique programs -- a residential treatment program located near downtown, and two permanent housing programs and a collaborative service center in Spring Branch -- that offer tailored housing, behavioral health care, and wrap around support services to help women, children, and families build resilient lives.

Surrey Women’s Centre offers crisis, court and counselling services for women and children escaping domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and other forms of gender-based violence. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to ensure that women and children have the support they need, when they need it!

The Assaulted Women's Helpline (AWHL) offers a telephone crisis line to all women in Ontario who have experienced abuse. It provides crisis counselling, emotional support, safety planning, information and referrals for shelters, rape crisis centres, legal services and supports, community based supports, criminal justice supports and services, counsellors and therapists, support groups, and culturally and linguistically appropriate services. AWHL allows women to reach out for help free of charge in up to 154 languages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, assured of their anonymity and confidentiality. The Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter is a non profit Society, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our Society is a member of B.C. / Yukon Society of Transition Houses, a network of women's shelters, transition houses, and safe homes across B.C., yet we function as an independent organization. Our staff and volunteers provide a range of supportive services to women and children in the area boundaried by Oyama to the North and Peachland to the South.
