NEW RIVER VALLEY HEALTH FOUNDATION (THE FOUNDATION) IS A TAX-EXEMPT, NONSTOCK, NONPROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE AND FOSTER THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH ACTIVITIES FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES IN THE NEW RIVER VALLEY. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE FORM OF CONTRIBUTIONS, LOANS, AND LEASING ARRANGEMENTS TO SELECTED ORGANIZATIONS WHO PRIMARILY ARE PROVIDERS OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES IN THE NEW RIVER VALLEY.

Our mission is to improve the lifelong health of our community through the promotion and support of breastfeeding. We strive to provide professional breastfeeding education and consultation, encouragement, support, and public awareness to the families of our community, as well as to serve as a model for community lactation support. Because the cost of professional lactation support which is rarely covered by health insurance is a primary and persistent barrier to breastfeeding success, BNF's services are delivered without charge to all Northern Berkshire families, and all mothers giving birth at North Adams Regional Hospital (NARH).
