Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) leads a comprehensive community effort to end the #1 violent crime in Marin County: domestic violence. We provide transformational services and programs that protect and enhance victim safety, and ultimately engage our community in permanent change.

Originally started by the Harbor Area YWCA, our mission is to provide shelter and support to anyone impacted by domestic violence, empowering them to move beyond trauma, towards safety & stability. Established in 1983, we have been serving the community for more than 40 years. Our programs are inclusive and help all survivors build healthy, safe, violence-free lives. We serve Los Angeles County with a Harbor Area/South Bay focus. Most of our clients have low/no incomes. We provide all services in Spanish and English. We work to improve the quality of life for survivors, and to prevent future acts of domestic violence through prevention education.

First Light supports survivors of sexual assault and child abuse and their families through collaboration, education, advocacy, and treatment services in Anderson and Oconee Counties.

Casa Julia operates emergency shelters and community programs for women and children who are survivors of domestic violence, providing safe housing, counseling, legal support and rapid re‑housing services. Founded in 1902, the mission of the SPCA of Tompkins County is to protect companion animals. We are the first open-admission, no-kill shelter in the country dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation. not only do we steward animals, but the environment as well. our “green” shelter, known as the Dorothy and Roy Park Pet Adoption Center, was LEED- Certified Silver in 2004—the first shelter to achieve this status in the united States. our best practices in shelter operations and programs serve as effective examples for other shelters across the country striving to achieve no-kill status. We strive to foster a community in which the need for sheltering abandoned, neglected and homeless and abused animals is diminished; and we work ceaselessly to place medically and behaviorally healthy, treatable or manageable animals in loving homes. We provide leadership in cruelty investigation initiatives, educational outreach, and pet population control. We promote responsible pet stewardship by providing behavioral issues-counseling as needed for adopted animals and their owners, as well as behavior training for shelter dogs to increase adoption rates and ultimately nurture and enhance the human-animal bond.

AWARE, Inc. provides free, confidential emergency shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Jackson County. The organization operates a 24-hour crisis helpline and offers counseling, legal and systems advocacy, community education, and other services that help survivors rebuild safe, independent lives.

CAWC is committed to ending domestic violence. Using a self-help, empowerment approach, we provide counseling, advocacy, and a 24-hour hotline for people affected by domestic violence, including a shelter for women and children. We work for social change through education, service collaboration, and institutional advocacy.
