Our Mission is to protect bonobos (Pan paniscus), preserve their tropical rainforest habitat, and empower local communities in the Congo Basin. By working with local Congolese people through cooperative conservation and community development programs, and by shaping national and international policy, the Bonobo Conservation Initiative (BCI) is establishing new protected areas and leading efforts to safeguard bonobos wherever they are found. The Bonobo Peace Forest (BPF) is the guiding vision of BCI: a connected network of community-based reserves and conservation concessions, supported by sustainable development. The Peace Forest provides protection for bonobos and other species in the Congo rainforest, while at the same time ensuring a better life for the people who share this precious land.

Enhance Worldwide creates customized interventions in collaboration with local people, with an emphasis on the leadership of women and girls, who understand the challenges and opportunities as part of their lived experience. The intervention design is focused on Positive Deviance, the concept that in every community there are positive deviants, individuals whose behaviors and strategies have allowed them to overcome the challenges to their wellbeing with which their peers struggle. By discovering and practicing these positive deviant behaviors, Enhance Worldwide focuses on existing, indigenous solutions.

CAWC is committed to ending domestic violence. Using a self-help, empowerment approach, we provide counseling, advocacy, and a 24-hour hotline for people affected by domestic violence, including a shelter for women and children. We work for social change through education, service collaboration, and institutional advocacy.

The mission of the ACCE Institute is to improve the lives of low income and working families in California by carrying out and supporting work that fosters community improvement and civic participation. The ACCE Institute conducts research on critical issues of concern to low- and moderate-income communities, educates the public and policy-makers about these issues, and provides capacity-building trainings to individuals and organizations. Additionally, the ACCE Institute works to increase the civic engagement of low–and – moderate income communities by helping local organizations develop non-partisan civic engagement efforts that encourage active public citizenship and voting in low and moderate-income communities.
