Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina is the only statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child maltreatment.  Its mission is to to prevent child abuse and neglect by supporting the development of safe, stable, nurturing relationships for children in their families and communities.

As the largest national, non-partisan, grassroots organization leading the fight to prevent gun violence, The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is dedicated to creating an America free from gun violence, where all Americans are safe at home, at school, at work, and in their communities.

Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, the nation’s leading policy organization dedicated to researching, writing, enacting, and defending proven laws and programs, is on a mission to save lives from gun violence by shifting culture, changing policies, and challenging injustice.

THEIR MISSION: " Futures Without Violence, formerly Family Violence Prevention Fund, works to prevent and end violence against women and children around the world. Creating futures without violence has been our vision for over thirty years. Now, it is also our name. From domestic and dating violence, to child abuse and sexual assault, Futures Without Violence works to end some of the most pressing global issues of our time. We advance the health, stability, education, and security of women and girls, men and boys worldwide. In 1994, Futures Without Violence was instrumental in developing the landmark Violence Against Women Act passed by the US Congress. Striving to reach new audiences and transform social norms, we train professionals such as doctors, nurses, athletic coaches, and judges on improving responses to violence and abuse. As well, we work with advocates, policy makers and others to build sustainable community leadership and educate people everywhere about the importance of respect and healthy relationships – the relationships that all individuals, families, and communities need and deserve."

Mission: to identify, provide victim advocacy, respond to and treat child abuse and neglect in Buncombe county, NC; to educate and empower the public, protect children and reduce trauma through a coordinated community effort. Vision: to set the standard for providing quality, effective, evidence-based programs for the prevention, education and treatment of child abuse and neglect. By creating a community response to child abuse and neglect through a system collaboration, we will address abuse in a more enlightened, efficient, and effective manner.
