The Center for Constitutional Rights partners with communities facing rights violations to challenge systems of oppression. It combines strategic litigation, public advocacy, and narrative-shifting communications to defend constitutional and human rights and to build power for movements seeking justice.

Our mission is to promote and enforce human rights and to strengthen constitutional democracy in South Africa, as part of a broader civil society movement. We do this mainly through strategic public interest litigation to enforce the rights entrenched in the South African Bill of Rights, as well as law and policy advocacy, supported by and movement building to promote awareness of human rights and social justice issues.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project promotes justice by defending and advancing the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education.

The mission of the Nonhuman Rights Project is, through education and litigation, to change the common law status of at least some nonhuman animals from mere “things,” which lack the capacity to possess any legal right, to “persons,” who possess such fundamental rights as bodily integrity and bodily liberty, and those other legal rights to which evolving standards of morality, scientific discovery, and human experience entitle them.

Using the medical and forensic sciences, we investigate and expose violations of human rights worldwide and we work to stop them. We support institutions that hold perpetrators of human rights abuses accountable for their actions. We educate health professionals and students in the fields of medicine, public health, and nursing, as well as members of the public. We motivate people to become active in supporting a movement for human rights, and we strive to create a culture of human rights in the medical and scientific professions.

The Montana Human Rights Network informs and organizes Montana residents so they can realize their power to create justice, equality, and solidarity in their communities. We challenge bigotry and discrimination, support marginalized people, and advocate for legislation that honors everyone’s basic rights.

Basic Rights Oregon will ensure that all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer Oregonians experience equality by building a broad and inclusive politically powerful movement, shifting public opinion, and achieving policy victories. Basic Rights Oregon is a member of the Equality Federation.

Council for Children's Rights’ (CFCR) mission is to improve the lives and futures of children in Mecklenburg County through legal representation, individual advocacy, and by addressing community-wide issues through research and policy work. CFCR envisions a community committed to standing up, speaking out, and acting to ensure every child’s right to be safe, healthy, and well-educated.CFCR defends and champions the rights of children to be supported and treated with fairness, compassion, and respect, regardless of personal circumstances.

NARF's objectives are to protect the rights of and seek justice for tribes and Native peoples. In the words of Executive Director John Echohawk, They ask for nothing more, and will accept nothing less than the U.S. Government keeping the promises it has made to Native Americans." NARF currently represents more than 60 tribes in 20 states on a wide range of critical matters, including land into trust, federal recognition, subsistence hunting & fishing, federal trust responsibilities, protection of sacred places, voting rights, sovereign immunity, Indian Child Welfare, water rights and environmental issues.

Derechos Humanos is a grassroots organization that promotes the human and civil rights of all migrants regardless of their immigration status. Consequently, we fight the militarization of our southern border home and combat the discrimination and human rights abuses of both our citizen and non-citizen brothers and sisters. In the context of an increasingly militarized border and the criminalization of immigration, Derechos Humanos works to empower those most directly impacted to create change and promote justice, challenging the borders that seek to divide us.

Learning Rights Law Center seeks to ensure that all students are provided with equitable access to the public education system and focuses on low-income students who have disabilities, face discrimination or are involved in the foster care or juvenile justice systems.
