Women's Resource Center (WRC) is dedicated to stopping domestic violence and sexual assault by rebuilding lives together. We believe ALL people deserve to live a life free from the crimes of domestic violence and sexual assault. Those who are victims of these crimes should have access to services that assist them in recovering from their trauma and moving forward in their lives. WRC is dedicated to providing the highest quality supportive services, counseling, shelter and education to women, men and children involved in or threatened by domestic violence or sexual assault.

Founded in 1976, House of Ruth empowers women, children, and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse, and houselessness. Through 14 programs in Washington, DC, we serve women, children, and families who are striving to overcome childhood trauma, domestic violence, homelessness, mental health disorders, and poverty.  Our continuum of services encompasses enriched housing for families and single women; trauma-informed childcare; and free counseling to empower anyone, regardless of gender, who is a survivor of trauma and abuse.

Club projects range from renovating domestic violence shelters, to providing mammograms to low-income women, to sponsoring self-esteem workshops for teenage girls. In addition, Soroptimists participate in organization-wide programs that include the Women's Opportunity Awards, Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls, the Soroptimist Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence, the Making a Difference for Women Award and the Violet Richardson Award. All projects seek to make life better for women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. PROVIDE A CENTRALIZED, SAFE AND CHILD FRIENDLY FACILITY FROM WHICH A MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM CONDUCTS INVESTIGATION AND INTERVENTION ACTIVITIES AND SUPPORTS THE PROCESS FOR OPTIMAL CASE RESOLUTION.

Hope's Wings Domestic Violence Program provides a holistic approach to domestic violence services by providing programs to empower victims to make safe and permanent changes.

The mission of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County is to reduce, remedy, and prevent domestic violence in Chester County.

The Women’s Center of Montgomery County (WCMC) is a volunteer, community organization with a primary focus on freedom from domestic violence and other forms of abuse. Their programs, policies and procedures reflect their strong commitment to empowering women. Their organizational purpose is to eliminate domestic violence so that individuals can live safer, more stable lives and thrive. Through their programs and services, they work to save lives, promote self-sufficiency, create institutional change and reduce the impact of domestic violence. Secondary goals include providing enrichment opportunities for the staff and volunteers; promoting positive change toward gender equality; and building our capacity by increasing volunteerism, funding and awareness.
