The mission of the YWCA Evanston/North Shore is to empower women and eliminate racism.  We accomplish our mission by creating opportunities and providing resources needed for women and girls to reach their fullest potential; promoting violence-free homes, schools, families and communities; and fostering racial, gender and economic equity and justice.

VISION: We aspire to be the vanguard organization that promotes a change in the social view on voluntarily putting up children for adoption, adopting and mistreatment MISSION STATEMENT: To guide boys and girls in their forming process to achieve optimum cognitive and social-emotional development. To raise integral human beings capable of achieving their own independence and cultivating the values of peace, respect and harmony with their environment.

The foundation invests in the potential of 2SLGBTQ+ communities — especially LGBTQ women, girls, and other historically excluded groups — by providing rapid-response community grants, scholarships (e.g., for queer youth camps), and programs to improve health, economic justice, and representation. Its work includes building an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Directory and supporting grassroots organizations across the U.S. and Canada.

Soroptimist is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world.  Founded in 1921, Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) is an international organization for business and professional women who provide volunteer service to their communities. About 35,000 Soroptimists in 20 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls. SIA is part of Soroptimist International, which comprises almost 85,000 members in about 120 countries. The name Soroptimist means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs, which determine the focus of service to their communities. The Raleigh Club is focused on improving the economic independence of women and ending violence against women.  In addition, Soroptimists participate in organization-wide programs that include the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards, Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls, the Soroptimist Workplace Campaign to End Domestic Violence, the Soroptimist Ruby Award: For Women Helping Women, and the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award.  International projects have included partnerships with Women for Women International, and through Project SIerra, Hope and Homes for Children in Sierra Leone.

New Friends New Life (NFNL) restores and empowers trafficked and sexually exploited teen girls, women, and their children, and drives awareness of the issue and its prevalence. By providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health, and spiritual support, New Friends New Life helps women and children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty, and limited opportunities.

About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. Soroptimist International of Marysville is celebrating 30 years of service to our community. We are part of Soroptimist International, with over 95,000 members in 120 countries around the globe. Our focus is on service: we are committed to improving the lives of women and children in our community, our country, and around the world. at our local club level, we organize fundraisers to support various service projects chosen by the members. We do several hands-on projects and also donate money to projects that share our vision. We recognize exceptional women and girls with awards and monetary grants to help them continue their work.

Jesse’s House is a home for adolescent girls who have been removed from conditions of abuse, or adverse circumstances in order to secure their safety and well-being. In addition to providing shelter and basic care, we ensure the medical, dental, and mental health needs of each resident are evaluated, and appropriate services are provided in order to maintain their physical and mental health. We also provide academic support and life skills development to help them achieve academic success and prepare them for independent, adult life. In essence, we strive to serve as a counterbalance to the trauma and neglect they have experienced in order to help guide them through their present challenges, and their years beyond Jesse’s House.

WE HOUSE BOYS AND GIRLS WHO ARE TROUBLED, ABUSED, NEGLECTED OR COME FROM TROUBLED FAMILIES. WE PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE LIVING ARRANGEMENT FOR THESE CHILDREN WHO CANNOT LIVE IN THEIR OWN HOMES OR UNDER ANY OTHER FAMILY CARE. WE STRENGTHEN CHARACTER BY MODELING CHRIST-CENTERED VALUES. WE TRANSFORM HEARTS AND CHANGE LIVES WHILE MAINTAINING OUR CORE VALUES, WHICH ARE BIBLE-BASED, PEOPLE ORIENTED AND WITH AN OBEDIENT SPIRIT. WE HAVE BEEN SERVING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES FOR OVER 30 YEARS. OVER THE LAST 3 DECADES APPROXIMATLY 700 CHILDREN HAVE CALLED THE RANCH "HOME". The Arkansas Sheriffs' Youth Ranches' mission is to address, remedy, and prevent child abuse and neglect by creating safe, healthy, and permanent homes for children. Our philosophy has always been that it is better to build a child rather than repair an adult. Founded in 1976 by a group of sheriffs and concerned citizens, the Ranch began as a single cottage (mobile home) that served as shelter to three young boys. The Ranch now consists of three campuses across Arkansas with eight cottages for boys and girls. During its history, the Ranch has been "a place to call home" to more than 1,200 children and touched the lives of many more. Many of the children who come to the Ranch are often the product of a broken home of abuse and neglect, lacking the nurturing relationship of a loving family. The Ranch provides a healthy home environment filled with emotional support to help each child learn to trust those around them and cope with their emotions, all the while learning responsibility and building self-confidence. When children enter the Ranch, they are surrounded with individuals who care about their immediate needs and their future aspirations. It is the Ranch’s commitment to every child – a commitment that extends from the Board of Directors to management personnel, administrative staff, house parents, support staff and volunteers – to help them believe in themselves and lead fulfilling, meaningful lives. Residents may stay at the Ranch through post-secondary education until they are socially and financially prepared for independence and have stable employment. More than 900 children have experienced life at the Ranch, and for those and many in the future, the Ranch will always be a place to call home.
