NECWA is a volunteer driven nonprofit based in southeastern MA. Our organization combines educational outreach with research and conservation activities to protect and rescue unique marine wildlife in the coastal waters of New England. We work within communities to help them to integrate with the wildlife around them, with the most benefit to both. NECWA aims to teach the next generation of field biologists and conservationists by providing internship opportunities for high school and college students to gain experience in the field of marine science. The data collected from our projects enhances our understanding of the fascinating marine wildlife found here. This data is shared with researchers in the United States and worldwide

FCD has the following missions 1. To educate individual farmers and Self Help Groups (SHG) and provide them with the most accurate data on crop prices, market demands and supplies across the globe through mobile services and at her micro data centers, thus improving wealth creation and employment 2. Bringing out the potentials and skills from individuals and groups for equality and sustainable development through training, mentoring, and provision of seed capitals to farmers through linking them to financial institutions. 3. Creation of a network of partners amongst startups, farmers, donors, angel investors and Diaspora through 24hr online services platforms available for communication.

How To Save Millions Of Lives With A Simple MP3 Player The solar-powered device developed by URIDU is used to provide health education to illiterate rural women in developing countries Every six seconds a child under five dies. Almost all of those deaths occur in developing countries - and most of them are entirely preventable. Millions of lives could be saved just by providing illiterate rural mothers with accessible health education. Unfortunately, bringing this knowledge to remote locations has so far been an enormous challenge for both governments and NGOs. A new project is tackling that problem with a groundbreaking solution based on solar-powered MP3 players. The so-called MP3forLife Player has been developed by URIDU (www.uridu.org), a German non-profit social enterprise. Each player contains more than 400 carefully selected answers to questions about health, nutrition, family planning, child care, work safety and many more topics. All texts are translated with the help of more than 10.000 volunteers from over 100 countries who participate in a unique crowdsourcing effort. Once the information has been translated it is recorded by a native speaker of the target language. Local NGOs are taking care of distributing MP3forLife Players free of charge to women in need. We conceived the MP3forLife Player for small group listening - it fosters discussion, exchange and group building", explains Felicitas Heyne, psychologist and founder of URIDU. We want to provide basic knowledge to illiterate rural women, but we also want to create a team spirit among them. They are key to positive change in their countries. Wherever women are empowered, a favorable spiral is set in motion. Health and education improve, populations stabilize, economies grow." The MP3forLife approach has been successfully implemented in Tanzania in co-ordination with the national Ministry for Health and Social Welfare. VirginiaFIRST is the Virginia-based affiliate of US FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), a non-profit international educational mentoring organization. VirginiaFIRST promotes FIRST's mission to: * inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting team-based, mentor-based programs that build skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); * promote the spirit of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship; * foster well-rounded life capabilities; * help today's youth acquire the knowledge and skills needed to compete in the technologically-driven global economy; * encourage students (ages 6-18) to pursue studies in the sciences, engineering and technology at the college, graduate and post-graduate levels leading to careers in related technical fields. It is a goal of VirginiaFIRST to make FIRST's programs available to all Virginia youth.

The United Planning Organization, the designated community action agency for Washington, DC, was established December 10, 1962 to plan, coordinate, and implement human services programs for low-income residents in the Nation's Capital. For over 50 years, UPO has been in the forefront of the war on poverty. As the catalyst for economic security and growth for all Washington, DC residents, UPO has laid the groundwork for innovative social service programs such as weatherization and energy conservation services, Head Start, workforce development training and youth development. Today, UPO continues to provide residents with comprehensive resources for early childhood education; youth development; employment and training; family and community services; case management and referrals to other supportive services.

Our mission is to develop new ideas and implement new solutions to address the short and long-term threats to elephant survival, providing them a new future free of cruelty and death at the hands of humans. Our unique approach of developing communities that will end poaching and illegal trafficking, implementing humane economies within host countries and by creating non-invasive research facilities, we will bring transformational change to this epic struggle while bettering the lives of the indigenous population and the host government. The Elephant Project will create self-sustaining and self-funding sanctuaries and communities reducing the need to constantly fundraise for the project. This project is designed to be a model that can be used all over the world to protect endangered species, better the economies of the host country, provide skills training, jobs, healthcare and educational opportunities for the indigenous population.

Our Mission: To spark curiosity, enhance understanding, and inspire conservation of our Blue Planet.Located within Odiorne Point State Park, Seacoast Science Center provides educational experiences on behalf of New Hampshire State Parks and have been connecting people to the wonders of our coast since 1992. Our live animal exhibits feature the amazing creatures that live in the rapidly changing Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Our engaging programs make learning about the ocean fun for everyone, from pre-K to senior rediscovery. Our hands-on science exhibits motivate families to become caretakers of our Blue Planet.We also operate the Seacoast Science Center Marine Mammal Rescue program, responding to marine mammals along the coast of NH and northern MA.

A vast number of our students have gone off to top universities across the United States in pursuit of STEM degrees. US STEM also provides scholarships to students with financial needs for higher education in STEM fields. ​ We have nurtured unfocused youth to grow and achieve high honors in a broad range of academics. Our reserved students step out of their shell into technical leadership roles. ​ There is a dire need for the services the US STEM Foundation provides as evident by the critical unmet demand for engineers, scientists, and technology specialists - a core challenge US STEM is embracing.

We strive to contribute to a world where urban and rural communities take responsible care of their environment, work consciously to conserve and protect natural resources in sustainable ways, and preserve historical assets and heritage for the benefit of future generations. Our mission is three-pronged. Conservation: Create significant and sustainable environmental change, specifically focusing on climate change, water conservation, food security, waste recycling, sustainable energy, preservation of endangered fauna and flora and greening projects that incorporate poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods. Education: Increase capacity and expertise of the southern African environment community, by transferring skills, providing mentorship and building supportive networks for the development and sustainability of the environment sector. Innovation: Use modern technology (e.g. GIS) capacity to enhance conservation efforts and to pioneer socio-ecological approaches to protected area management.
