Clothes To Kids of Denver

Clothes To Kids of Denver provides free school clothing to students from low-income or in-crisis families in a warm, welcoming store-like setting. Our hope is that when students have the clothing they need to feel comfortable and confident in the classroom, they will better be able to focus on their studies and fit in with their peers. Without Clothes To Kids, thousands of Denver students would go without school clothing and basics each year.

Yellow Ribbon Fund

Founded in 2005, the mission of Yellow Ribbon Fund is to provide support to severely wounded, injured or ill American service members, their caregivers, and families during lengthy medical recovery and reintegration into civilian life. Our Crossroads Program provides assistance to active duty and disabled service members and their families through lodging, temporary housing, local transportantion, and other support while the service member or veteran is receiving medical treatment away from home at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, MD. Our Keystone Program follows the service member and family back to their hometown to provide support, encouragement, and bonding with military families with similar medical issues. The program provides wellness, educational, fitness, and social programs to aid the healing process and strengthen the family. Retreats provide respite from the daily grind of coping with medical issues. Our recipients rely on our donors to relieve the huge financial burden caused by temporay stays in the Bethesda area for treatment and to help build a local community of compatriots in their hometown.

Tarrant Area Food Bank

Tarrant Area Food Bank opened in September 1982 with the purpose of helping local human services agencies feed poor Fort Worth area residents. That fall the Food Bank distributed donated food to 48 charities. Today, as a regional clearinghouse for donated food and household products, we serve a network of almost 300 hunger-relief agencies in 13 counties. We believe that children and adults receiving food aid deserve a nutritious mix of foods; thus we strive to provide foods ranging from fresh produce and dairy products through frozen meats to packaged pasta and bottled juices. With the mission to eliminate hunger, we seek to educate recipients about nutrition so they may reap the greatest possible benefit from the donated food. We also work to reach all pockets of hunger in our area by serving a large range of charities including pantries, soup kitchens, Kids Cafes, senior centers, low-income daycare centers, emergency shelters, disaster-relief organizations and other social service centers.

Shoes That Fit

Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive. A new pair of shoes can be a life-changing event for a child. School attendance, self-esteem and behavior improve. Physical activity increases. Smiles return. All from an often over-looked item—a good pair of shoes. Our vision is that, one day, every child in America who needs new shoes gets new shoes, allowing all children the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
