MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger is a national nonprofit organization working to end hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds in the United States and Israel. MAZON began soliciting donations by encouraging American Jews to donate a portion of the cost of life-cycle celebrations (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, anniversaries, and other joyous occasions), a modern interpretation of the ancient rabbinical tradition of not allowing a celebration to begin until the community’s poor and hungry were seated and fed. Rabbis at synagogues all across the country responded to our call to action and encouraged their congregants to support MAZON. To provide for people who are hungry while at the same time advocating for other ways to end hunger and its causes To educate and raise the consciousness of the Jewish community regarding its obligation to alleviate hunger and its causes; and  To make donating a portion of the cost of life cycle events (historically at least 3%) to MAZON a permanent tradition in Jewish life.

CAFB feeds those who suffer from hunger in Washington Metropolitan area by acquiring food and distributing it through a network of member feeding programs; and to educate, empower and enlighten the community about the issues surrounding hunger and nutrition.

Corazon de Vida (CDV) is a 20+ year US 501c3 non-profit organization providing life-changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico by funding local orphanages, providing quality of life improvement services and investing in the children’s future by funding higher education.

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 22 million pounds of food, and the Food Bank serves, on average, 400,000 people per month in San Diego County.

Through compassionate, culturally competent services, including emergency food assistance, case management, domestic violence support, legal and immigration guidance, workers’ rights advocacy, educational enrichment, and health and wellness navigation, we strive to ensure that every person has access to the resources and protection they deserve. To end hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable, grassroots, women-centered strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption in countries throughout the world. The Hunger Project carries out its mission through three essential activities: mobilizing village clusters at the grassroots level to build self-reliance, empowering women as key change agents, and forging effective partnerships with local government.

CoachArt’s mission is to bring joy and possibility to every child impacted by serious illness. Children living with serious illnesses may feel isolated because of their conditions. Frequent hospital visits and deficient immune systems often cause them to miss time in school and recreational activities. Families, overwhelmed by the cost and demands of ongoing medical care, often lack the resources to seek out or afford extracurricular activities. Healthy siblings are affected too when family resources are focused on a seriously ill child. CoachArt supports these families by offering free recreational lessons that bring a sense of normalcy back into their lives. Since 2001, CoachArt has connected kids with serious illnesses and their siblings with caring mentors for free adaptive arts, athletics, and STEM lessons. Our vision is a world where every child impacted by serious illness can create, connect, and thrive.

Gather serves those in our community experiencing hunger. We provide nutritious food through innovative distribution programs and our Pantry Market. We offer nutrition education and recipes for healthy living. In addition, we collaborate with community partners to address the root causes of hunger.

Our mission is to support girls, women and LGBTQ+ people in accessing their power and improving their health through connections to the outdoors and community.
