At any given time, there are thousands of impoverished, orphaned or abandoned children fighting just to survive in the unforgiving streets and desperately poor rural regions of Honduras. Their existence is bleak. It's defined by hunger, violence, drug abuse, prostitution and exploitation. It's an existence of fear, heartache and despair. But it doesn't have to be that way. With the help of our fellow Canadians and our Honduran partner Sociedad Amigos de los Niños, Friends of Honduran Children has set out to rescue these children and give them what they urgently need - a home and a future – helping them to transform themselves from victims of poverty, abuse and crime into functioning, independent, self-reliant, contributing members of society.

ABC's mission is to offer every child a joyful, beloved life by creating compassionate programs in urgent response to the needs of New York City's most vulnerable families. We envision a world in which all children have a healthy, safe life full of joy, learning, and love in a nurturing family. ABC employs a "whole family" approach, recognizing that a nurturing family and secure parent-child attachment are critical components of early childhood development and positive life trajectories for children, families, and communities.
Christ’s Haven For Children is a nonprofit organization centered around the core values of Normalcy, Dignity, and Hope. We are located in north Fort Worth/Keller area and provide a trauma-informed, family model of care for displaced children, teens, and young adults. As a voluntary placement organization, we are an option outside of traditional foster care, often when a caregiver has exhausted all efforts to care for a child. Whether a child is with us for six months or sixteen years, we utilize that time loving them as our own and instilling normalcy, dignity, and hope into their lives.
We provide trusted, quality research, recommendations and advocacy that advance public policy and investments to improve the well-being of Connecticut’s children and families, specifically those that have been historically disadvantaged. At Connecticut Voices for Children (CT Voices), we believe that every policy and every funding decision should lead us closer to the future we want, which is a just society where all children are able to reach their full potential. As researchers and advocates, we know that financial security for families of color, particularly Black and Latiné families in Connecticut, is primarily determined by the historically rooted policies and practices that affect affordable housing, criminal and foster youth justice, fair employment, and tax equity. Our advocacy builds power with communities through deep organizing and broad partnership with values aligned coalitions, because sustained systems change requires turning moments to movements. We envision a Connecticut that creates opportunity for everyone, not just the lucky and privileged few, where all children achieve their full potential. Our strategic aim is toward economic justice and we prioritize issues that advance family economic security. Specifically, we promote: *tax reform including tax credit policies that lift-up low- and middle-income families as well as progressive revenue to fund critical supports and services; *land-use and zoning reforms that dismantle our history of redlining, protect tenants and provide rental assistance as well as rehabilitate existing and develop new affordable housing; *reforms to the foster care and criminal legal systems that keep families together, provide opportunities for young people as well as reinvest in urban centers; and *universal access to high-quality early care that provides dignified wages and paid sick days to educators as well as access to and pay caps for families.
Founded in 2000 by Fr. Thuan and two friends based in San Francisco, CA, the Blind Vietnamese Children Foundation assisted The Lover of the Holy Cross Sisters who had just established Nhat Hong Thi Nghe Home for the Blind in Ho Chi Minh City (1995). Up to the present time with the Foundation’s support the Sisters expanded to nine homes and schools with a total of almost 400 students. The Foundation has also provided funding to maintain the homes, schools, and healthcare centers for visually impaired children administered by other lay or religious groups. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by hundreds of friends who give much of their time and wealth throughout the year to assist in BVCF fundraising efforts. Every year the Foundation organized the benefit luncheons or dinners with silent and live auctions, and raffles. A lively family atmosphere blends different cultures and faiths in a single effort to help our very special children live promising lives in Vietnam.
If you want to directly impact the life of a child struggling with mental health, substance use, and developmental disabilities like autism, please consider a gift to Ocean Partnership for Children. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of youth and their families through natural and community supports. That means that we use a team approach to help our kids succeed, overcome challenges, and achieve their dreams and goals. Ocean Partnership for Children is THE NJ Children's System of Care designated care management organization (CMO) in Ocean County, NJ. We help over 1,000 youth every day, keeping them at home, in school and in the community where they can thrive. We use an innovative and successful approach that focuses on the youth's strengths, instead of their struggles. Our wraparound approach means we wrap services (in-home counseling, behavioral support, and other supports) around that youth and family. Because of our dedicated care coordination, over 90% of our youth are successful in their community!
