Friends of the Children–Portland pairs children who face significant systemic obstacles with paid, professional mentors (called “Friends”) for long-term one-to-one mentoring—making a 12+ year commitment from early childhood through high school graduation. The program’s aim is to break cycles of intergenerational poverty and improve educational, behavioral, and life outcomes for youth in the Portland area.

The mission of Advocates for Children & Youth is to identify problems, to promote policies and programs that improve results for Maryland children in measurable and meaningful ways, and to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and policies for the children and youth of Maryland.

East Bay Agency for Children improves the well-being of children, youth and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities.

TO HELP THE NEEDY CHILDREN OF THE STREETS IN NICARAGUA

The Committee to Benefit the Children's (CBC's) mission is to provide resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit children with cancer, leukemia, sickle cell anemia and other serious blood disorders, seeking treatment at Saint Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia. We are dedicated to improving the lives of these children and their families.

Friends of the Children NY is an early intervention program that screens and selects children in kindergarten who are the most at-risk of school failure, juvenile delinquency, and early parenting. 

The TEAM for West Virginia Children is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to work with communities and families to promote and advance the well-being of children, making their needs and healthy development a priority.

The mission of Helping Hand Home for Children is to bring hope and healing to children and families through a continuum of trauma-informed, therapeutic care including residential, foster, adoption, and support services.

Friends of the Children's mission is to help our nation's most vulnerable children develop the relationships, goals and skills necessary to break the cycles of poverty, abuse and violence, and become contributing members of society.

Baltimore Children & Youth Fund (BCYF) is a nonprofit organization stewarding public funds to ensure our children and youth are healthy, ready to succeed in school and live in stable, safe and supportive families and communities.

HOW WE ARE ORGANIZED Justice for Children and Youth is the operating name of the Canadian Foundation for Children, Youth & the Law, Inc. The Foundation is an Ontario non-share capital corporation with charitable status. It is administered by a 15 member Board of Directors who are elected at our Annual General meeting. The corporation itself is made up of members who pay a yearly fee or one life-time fee (sustaining member). Justice for Children and Youth has a small staff of 4 lawyers and 2 support staff. In addition we have many volunteers, students and others who work on specific projects on a contract basis. In addition to representing clients, our lawyers also perform public legal education and law reform work. One lawyer spends half of the time working on community development projects and outreach.
