Dictionary Project

The Dictionary Project is a nonprofit organization that works with sponsors throughout the country to provide personal dictionaries for third grade students in public schools. The purpose of this program is to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all their students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers, and creative thinkers. The dictionaries are for the children to keep, so that they can take the books with them into the fourth grade and use them throughout their school career.

Our mission is the preservation and promotion of agriculture- the largest of the Commonwealth's industries. Specifically, the Foundation seeks to: enlighten the public about farming and agriculture; create educational programs for children who may have no other exposure to agriculture; train teachers on agricultural concepts while helping them meet their own continuing education requirements; support farmland preservation; fund scholarships for post-secondary agriculture studies; and promote career opportunities in agriculture.

Bilingual Education For Central America

BECA exists to promote cultural exchange and provide affordable bilingual education. In our volunteer-driven bilingual school model, Central American students learn from dedicated volunteer teachers, and those volunteers learn from the community in which they are immersed. Providing educational access and empowerment to the most financially disadvantaged members of a community is a defining characteristic of our program; it should come as no surprise that "beca" means scholarship in Spanish.

Kids R Ok

Kids.R.ok works to provide quality education to children in less privileged communities through after-school programs by trained teachers, merit scholarships and other necessary educational needs. Currently Kids.R.ok supports about 200 children in India through its programs. 617 million youth worldwide lack basic math and literacy skills. Kids.R.ok aims to reduce this number and cease the endless cycle of poverty by providing quality education.

SEND'EM OFF SMILING

Our goal at Send'em Off Smiling is to link the resources of our caring community with the children in most need -- to give these children a chance at a better future. We believe that -- by making the "back-to-school" experience a positive one for children, we can help set them on a path for greater success. Teachers attest to the difference that the program can make in the attitude of these children. It's wonderful to know that such a small thing can make such a big difference!

The Society of Ontario Freethinkers (SOFREE) is a dynamic secular fellowship that promotes freethought, critical thinking, dignity and equality for humanists, atheists, agnostics, and skeptics. We provide a social network for members, run a video production service that promotes freethought, social justice, critical thinking, and Humanist culture, provide educational resources for teachers of high school world religions courses, support the Good Without God KW publicity campaign of the KW Atheist Alliance.

Compton G.IRLS Club is an organization that works with girls and gender non-conforming youth within underserved communities. We enrich our participants' lives by providing access to quality workshops, field trips, and unique experiences otherwise not accessible to them. We intentionally select mentors and teachers with similar backgrounds so they can see themselves mirrored in our hosts. Doing this helps us foster pride within our youth and the communities they are from.
