G.I.F.T.4.S.

To provide students and their families with fundamental skills and tools to achieve their personal and professional objectives. The G.I.F.T.4.S. Academy is a 3-week intensive program for students in grades 3rd through 8th. The Academy focuses on the core subjects, computer literacy, health and wellness, and fine arts. In addition, parents participate in educational workshops ranging from financial literacy to parenting skills. Qualified teachers, counselors, coaches, volunteers, and staff provide the information to help participants and their families achieve a high level of excellence.

East Dallas Development Center (EDDC)

East Dallas Developmental Center is a non-profit childcare center serving the East Dallas community for more than 30 years. Locally recognized for excellence in childcare, EDDC serves children six weeks of age through pre-school in a warm and loving environment with low teacher/child ratios and experienced staff. Children at EDDC develop a strong social, cognitive, emotional and physical foundation for kindergarten and beyond. EDDC is more than just a daycare. It’s a community of families and teachers supporting each other and forging life-long friendships. EDDC is not governed, subsidized or affiliated with any religious group or umbrella organization. As a result, each and every parent plays an important role in determining the success of the school. While parents are not required to participate in events and fundraisers to secure enrollment, participation is a critical part of the success of EDDC. Major fundraising and social events include the fall wine social, spring auction and numerous parent-hosted parties throughout the year. Parents can also get involved by attending the fall carnival, participating in parent work days to improve the school and serving on the Board or a Parent Group committee.

Outside The Lens

Outside the Lens (OTL) activates and amplifies voices of historically marginalized individuals through photography, filmmaking, and media arts, catalyzing change within themselves, their community, and the world. For over 20 years, we have delivered an adaptable curriculum to 22,000 youth in weekly classes, after-school programs, summer sessions, workshops, and teacher training. We use cameras and digital media along with a proven educational strategy that allows youth to think creatively, engage in issues that are important to them, and advocate for social change.

THE YOGA OUTREACH SOCIETY

Yoga Outreach partner’s with volunteer yoga instructors, community organizations, social service agencies, and correctional facilities to provide mindfulness-based yoga programming to often overlooked adults and at-risk youth. Our yoga programs are strengths-based and trauma-informed serving men, women, and youth facing challenges with mental health, addiction, poverty, violence, trauma, and imprisonment. In addition, we provide training, ongoing mentorship, and community building opportunities to yoga teachers and community support professionals to enhance the delivery of yoga in these settings.

Michigan Abolitionist Project helps people to use their gifts and talents to prevent and end slavery in Michigan and beyond. They engage the community through their network of growing Community Groups throughout Michigan. At the heart of who they are, are stellar abolitionists. MAP volunteers are business owners, college students, pastors, artists, stay-at-home moms and dads, writers, teachers, lawyers, construction workers, hairdressers, medical professionals, social workers, marketing experts, computer techs, professors, and more! The Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities. LDAO offers many resources, services, information, venues and products designed to help people with LDs and ADHD, as well as parents, teachers, and other professionals.
