We go wherever we are invited. We have travelled to Central and South America, and across the USA. We can be virtually anywhere, with videoconferencing technology.

The Vancouver Island Crisis Society is committed to providing an accessible, 24-hour, telephone crisis and suicide prevention, intervention service, including postvention programs. We endeavour to provide emotional support during times of crisis, information about community resources, education intended to promote community wellness, and reduce the incidence of suicide. We value the principles of confidentiality, non-judgemental acceptance, respect for diversity, personal empowerment, and cooperation. The Vancouver Island Crisis Society is committed to bringing mental health wellness to our community through education around suicide prevention. As part of our commitment, we provide an accessible, 24-hour Crisis Line and an online chat support service that operates nightly.

Veterans Legal Institute (VLI) provides pro bono legal assistance to homeless, at risk, disabled and low income current and former service members that eradicates barriers to housing, education, employment and healthcare and foster self-sufficiency. The enduring goal is to prevent veteran homelessness and suicide.

Distress Centre Oakville provides: 1. Crisis Intervention services for those in immediate crisis, distress or suicidal: We provide anonymous, confidential, non-judgmental, listening, emotional support and crisis intervention. 2. Crisis prevention services for ongoing emotional support: We provide befriending for those who are lonely, isolated, struggling with mental illness, disabilities and stressful life events. 3. Information and referrals for practical assistance: Clients are provided with information and referrals to other agencies in the community. 4. Public education and awareness: We provide information about mental illness and suicide prevention through displays and presentations. 5. Customized Communication Skills Workshops: We provide fee-for-service Communication Skills training for the workplace focusing on effective skills and strategies to deal with difficult and stressful situations.

Victim Services of Peel is a registered charitable organization that was founded in 1986. We are the Region of Peel's only around-the-clock crisis intervention service for victims of crimes and tragedies. We provide an immediate response for victims of homicides, suicides, assaults, sexual assaults, traffic and fire fatalities, robberies, sudden deaths, etc. Every year we touch thousands of lives, empowering people and preventing further trauma through education and support.
