Casa de Esperanza de los Ninos strives to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect for at-risk infants, children and their families by providing comprehensive residential and family support programs that transform people and communities. Kathy Foster founded Casa de Esperanza de los Ninos in 1982 when she learned of the death of a toddler due to abuse by his mother’s new boyfriend. Kathy was so moved that, with a meager $500 donation, she rented a home, received an Independent Family Foster Home License, and began providing emergency foster care for children in crisis. This began a lifelong dedication to ensuring that children at risk were kept safe from abuse and neglect, and Casa de Esperanza was formed. For forty years, Casa de Esperanza has provided safety for more than 6,500 abused, neglected and at-risk infants and young children in the greater Houston area. Casa de Esperanza focuses on children in the most vulnerable age group, newborn to six years old, who are most at-risk for abuse and neglect and who cannot speak for themselves. From the first house in Houston’s Third Ward, Casa de Esperanza has grown into a trauma-informed, holistic program with a gated neighborhood of 10 homes near the Texas Medical Center and numerous community foster families, providing a comprehensive continuum of care for children and families in need.

Our mission is to provide mentoring and support services to adolescent girls ages 11 to 17 focused on building self-esteem, confidence and character.

THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND TO THEIR FAMILIES OF INDIVIDUALS CLINICALLY DIAGNOSED WITH A FORM OF BLOOD CANCER AND TO PROVIDE GENERAL EDUCATION TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT VARIOUS FORMS OF BLOOD CANCERS AND HOW TO BECOME A STEM CELL DONOR.

GRIFFIN'S GIFT, INC. AIMS TO HELP FAMILIES WITH THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF THE ADOPTION PROCESS, MAKING IT EASIER FOR HOPEFUL PARENTS TO WELCOME A CHILD IN NEED OF A FAMILY. GRIFFIN'S GIFT, INC. WILL USE THE FUNDS IT RAISES TO MAKE LOW OR NO INTEREST LOANS TO BE USED BY QUALIFIED FAMILIES TOWARDS COVERING THE COSTS OF ADOPTION. FAMILIES WILL BE THOROUGHLY VETTED BY A QUALIFIED ADOPTION AGENCY. LOANS WILL BE REPAID OVER 5-10 YEARS.

CWLA challenges Americans to make children a national priority. Our mission is to engage people everywhere in promoting the well-being of children, youth, and their families, and protecting every child from harm. We envision a future in which families, neighborhoods, communities, organizations, and governments ensure that five universal needs of children are met. They include (1) basics such as food, shelter, education, and health care, (2) nurturing relationships, (3) opportunities for optimal development, (4) protection from harm, (5) and healing from harm if it occurs.

Lifeline Energy is a non-profit social enterprise that provides sustainable information and education access to vulnerable populations. We achieve this by designing, manufacturing and distributing solar and wind-up media players and radios for classroom and group listening. Since 1999, we have distributed more than 500,000 power independent radios to provide on-demand access to information and education, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa. Over the years we have received numerous awards including the Tech Museum of Innovation Award, a World Bank Development Marketplace Award and an Index: Design to Improve Life Award. In addition, our founder and CEO Kristine Pearson was named one of TIME magazine's Heroes of the Environment for 2007 and received the James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award in 2005.

Options for Youth’s mission is to expand opportunities for adolescents in underserved neighborhoods through programs that build upon the strengths and maximize the potential of each young person and help to break the cycle of poverty in their lives and communities.

TO ASSIST MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY SUFFERING FROM CANCER MEET THEIR EVERY DAY NEEDS, INCLUDING ASSISTANCE WITH UTILITIES, FOOD, AND SHELTER. TO BE A BEACON OF HOPE FOR THOSE IN FINANCIAL JEOPARDY DUE TO THEIR CANCER DIAGNOSIS.
