Originally established in 1989, Supporting Kidds is dedicated to serving the needs of bereaved children in Delaware. Our Center for Grieving Children and their Families in Hockessin provides a safe place to participate in healing programs that bring hope for their future. It also serves as the central hub for our outreach programs that engage the community to support children in the grieving process. Following a brief merger, Supporting Kidds re-emerged as an independent nonprofit organization with a new 501 (c) (3) number in early 2020 to continue the mission and vision of our our founding organization. Our mission is to provide a compassionate pathway to healing for grieving children and their families, and to empower the community to support them in the grieving process.

The chapter operates the large Ronald McDonald House in Rochester and provides a “home away from home” so families can stay close to their hospitalized children. It offers lodging, meals, and supportive services to remove barriers to care, strengthen families, and promote healing for children receiving medical treatment in the region.
We offer the comforts of home and support services to families of seriously ill children near the medical care they need.
