The National Association of Atomic Veterans (NAAV) was founded in August 1979 by the late Orville E. Kelly of Burlington, Iowa. Its purpose is to provide the U. S. Atomic Veteran community to speak, with a single voice, to their inability to get a fair hearing related to their developing radiogenic health issues that may have been precipitated by their exposure to “ionizing” radiation while participating in a nuclear weapon test detonation, or a “post-test” event. From the beginning, and to date, we continue to pursue our dedication to this important cause.
Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC) shall execute and plan community-wide events such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, POW/MIA Day and recognition/support of military families of all services. It is an inclusive committee composed of civic education, veteran and business partners. The National Veterans Council for Legal Redress is a Connecticut based Veterans' service organization has been impacting Veterans lives since 1982. NVCLR assists Veterans with legal services if, they have been diagnosed with PTSD and received a less than honorable discharge. And then NVCLR helps Veterans to get their discharge upgraded. NVCLR is responsible for helping to get the Hagel memo instituted along with the former Secretary of State Chuck Hagel. The memo stated that "if a Veteran have been diagnose by a Psychiatrist with a diagnose PTSD than the Veteran should be given special consideration for getting less than honorable discharge upgraded." NVCLR is also responsible for erecting the Vietnam Monument that is located on Long Wharf in New Haven, CT

Our work began with a goal to construct a public memorial to honor all Massachusetts Fallen Heroes since September 11, 2001. Since the completion of the memorial, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes has expanded its mission to provide services and programs that Honor the Fallen, Support Gold Star Families and Empower Veterans. Massachusetts Fallen Heroes remains committed to supporting Veterans and Gold Star Families while raising awareness of their sacrifice.
