At the time of this writing there are over 26,000 children attending San Diego County schools who have been identified as food insecure, meaning they don't know where their next meal will come. Their primary source of nutrition is the school cafeteria food they receive Monday through Friday. Many of them have nothing of nutritional value to eat on the weekends. Our mission is to provide weekend meals to children with the inability to thrive due to lack of nutritious food in their homes. We do this by filling backpacks full of nutritious food for these children to take home on the weekends. Each backpack contains 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and a few healthy snacks, enough meals to sustain them through Saturday and Sunday.

WE COOK. Our delicious, freshly prepared, health-promoting meals designed to meet the highest quality standards are critical in helping prevent or manage chronic disease. WE DELIVER. A majority of our clients are homebound or disabled and rely on our volunteers and staff to not only deliver their meals, but ensure that they do not suffer the debilitating effects of social isolation. WE TEACH. From one-on-one consults, Cooking Matters classes across the state, community partnerships and national advocacy efforts through the Food Is Medicine Coalition, we are helping the under-served live healthier lives.WE CARE. Friends come together here to touch the lives of thousands of others who are not as fortunate. Together we strive to lift them up, improve their health, & enrich their lives.

Our Mission: Through Christian love and excellence we are dedicated to providing a fulfilling lifestyle and promoting independence to those we serve. In 1979, a handful of devoted Christians recognized an opportunity to minister to Arizona seniors (particularly those with little financial resources) by offering affordable nursing care. Realizing the need, they formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and named it Christian Care. In 1980, the cornerstone was laid for a sixty-bed Skilled Nursing Center.

SAME Café is a donation-based, fair exchange restaurant that serves healthy food to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Our mission is to create community through healthy food access. We believe in healthy food, community, and dignity for everyone.

Meals on Wheels of Rockingham County provides nutritious meals and beneficial support services to older and disabled residents of Rockignham County who need assistance to help them preserve long term health, well-being, and independence.

Kendal at Hanover is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community characterized by mutual respect, integrity and a concern for each other's welfare that fosters the independence, vitality, health and security of older persons and in which residents and staff may exercise their talents in a supportive environment. THE MISSION OF MOUNT PLEASANT HOME IS TO PROVIDE HOUSING AND SERVICE OPTIONS FOR ELDERS WITH EMPHASIS ON SERVING A DIVERSE POPULATION AND GIVING PRIORITY TO THOSE WITH LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND INADEQUATE SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
