The mission of Communities In Schools Dallas Region is to help students at risk of failure stay in school, achieve academically and graduate, to become productive and contributing members of our communities. We do this because we believe that every child deserves school supplies and has the right to a quality education regardless of their family’s income or racial/ethnic identity. Baldwin provides services to fulfill basic needs and provide tools for children and adults to gain economic self-sufficiency and personal wholeness. The center is a safe place where bellies are filled, where children can play and learn without fear of violence, and where people can recover their dignity and find respect.
The mission of Uplift a Child Interntional (Former name -Vonumu International) is to identify the poor and needy children, place them in a school, and support them through 10 -12 years of schooling through the high school. This will keep the children off the streets, provide them with the basic skills to develop, and give them an opportunity to emerge as self-reliant and productive members of the society. By the time the children completes high school, they will have the necessary social skills and will be mature enough to plan and work towards a brighter future. Until then, we work with each child in helping the child grow in the right direction.
