The primary mission is to provide academically gifted, economically disadvantaged, and highly motivated young men of color (African-American, Latino, Asian-American and Native American) the opportunity to live in Westport and to study at Westport's outstanding publich high school, to help prepare them to assume positions of responsibility and leadership in their careers, communities and families.

Founded in 1996, Imhotep Center for Science Education and Knowledge Production exists to develop and implement cultural, STEAM, and inter-generational curriculum, training and effective learning models for youth and communities, particular focus will be given to communities of African heritage in Minnesota.
