Through programs like Sheila’s Supply Closet, Culinary Life Skills Training, and Gifts and Celebrations, along with our business ventures—Bates Pantry, Bates Thrift, and Bates Creative—we address both immediate needs and long-term growth. Help and Inspire People Through Running -- At New York Road Runners, it is our goal to give everyone on the planet both a reason to run and the means and opportunity to keep running and never stop.Over the past 60-plus years, we have grown from a local running club to a global champion of the running movement. We are the world’s premier community running organization, and our efforts and events serve all runners and active individuals, from beginners to professional athletes: the young, the elderly, and the underserved of all abilities.We impact the lives of people throughout the five boroughs and around the world through a wide variety of events and programs for people of all ages and abilities.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) is a youth empowerment organization whose mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Los Angeles is home to one of the most diverse populations in the country and along with being one of the largest affiliates of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBSLA is also one of the largest youth mentoring organizations in Southern California. Every year, we impact nearly 1,500 children throughout Los Angeles County—many of whom are referred to as being “at-risk” or “high-risk” youths. With the help of our amazing staff, army of selfless volunteers and generous donors, we continue to empower lives and provide our Littles with the opportunities and skill sets they need and deserve in order to achieve, succeed, and awaken their full potential.

The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.

Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive. A new pair of shoes can be a life-changing event for a child. School attendance, self-esteem and behavior improve. Physical activity increases. Smiles return. All from an often over-looked item—a good pair of shoes. Our vision is that, one day, every child in America who needs new shoes gets new shoes, allowing all children the opportunity to reach their highest potential.

Family Equality’s mission is to advance legal and lived equality for LGBTQ families, and for those who wish to form them, through building community, changing hearts and minds, and driving policy change. We envision a future where all LGBTQ families, regardless of creation or composition, live in communities that recognize, respect, protect, and value them.

Children Mending Hearts is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through educational and arts programs that build empathy and global citizenry. Our goal is to directly engage the youth of America in global children's causes where they can positively impact the life of another child and ultimately realize their potential to effect change both in their own community and around the world.

Jitegemee, which means “sustain yourself” in Kiswahili, is a grassroots nonprofit that provides formal and vocational education to street children and destitute youth in Kenya. Jitegemee is dedicated to removing the obstacles that prevent street children from attaining their educational goals.

Ryther provides exceptional therapeutic services to young people who are struggling emotionally and behaviorally so they may find a path to healing and hope. Each year, Ryther heals and gives hope to over 2000 young people and their families in western Washington who struggle with mental illness, trauma, substance use, and autism, through a variety of therapeutic services, including inpatient care, and partnerships with community organizations.
