Creative Pulse

Woolwich Creative Club allows thirty local children to access the social, cultural and health benefits of playing music together, in an area which is within the most deprived 10% for child deprivation, (IDACI). Most children in Woolwich would not access private music lessons and would miss out.We provide free weekly sessions in the heart of Woolwich. Children, aged 9-16 years, can learn piano, trumpet, drum kit, singing, guitar, bass guitar and writing workshop. Our tutors are experienced musicians from the worlds of Jazz and reggae. Musical Director is Jazz maestro Byron Wallen and our drum tutor is Kenrick Rowe who plays with Aswad, PJ Harvey and The Specials.During the summer we run holiday projects. These including inspiring visits to workshops, shows and galleries, followed by day-long session during which the children are encouraged to compose and write songs in extra time for creativity and to try new things.In these difficult times, we are asking for some help to maintain our high quality provision. Your support will help us fund; nine experienced music tutors, venue hire, refreshments, volunteer expenses, instrument purchase and maintenance. Woolwich Creative Club was launched in 2021.
