DUNK! Developing Unity, Nurturing Knowledge is a non-profit organization providing safe spaces for youth from deprived communities to grow, learn, play and socialize. Through our main tool being Basketball but also Life Skills Training and Academic Support, we empower our members to become agents of change in their communities. OUR OBJECTIVES Provide safe and healthy environment in which youth development is put forward. Promote Respect, Self-Esteem, Leadership, Commitment and Teamwork. Encourage children to excel in and out the classroom using sports as a motivational tool for success. Promote Gender Equality and empowerment of girls OUR METHOD Based on a three Pillar theory, DUNK builds on traditional extracurricular activities and emphasize on academics, education, social empowerment, and well being through our expertise in Basketball. 1. Athletic Development This pillar helps us appeal and reach out to children living in deprived communities. 2. Academic Development Through Academic Follow-ups, we are able to monitor our members' academic performances and offer tutorials to those in need. 3. Personal Development Through Community Service Hours and Life-Skills training, the players are given the tools to have a social impact and are encouraged to get involved in their own community.

Animal-Kind International raises funds and provides grants and capacity-building support to community-based animal welfare organizations in resource-limited countries (primarily in Africa, with programs in parts of Latin America and the Caribbean). It aims to strengthen local partners so they can rescue, care for, and reduce suffering of dogs, cats, donkeys, horses, and other animals through funding, technical assistance, and targeted grant programs.

Against the background of rapid environmental change, the mission of the Foundation shall be to mitigate social and humanitarian problems worldwide and make societies more resilient in facing them. The Foundation shall support efforts to redress social, economic and ecological imbalances, caused inter alia by macro-developments such as natural disaster, climate change, population growth or pandemic. With a view to contributing to sustainable social development, the Foundation may support projects, institutions or organizations engaged in the fields of education and training, research and innovation, development aid and the promotion of social responsibility and social and political discussion. The Foundation may act on a supra-regional or local scale to prevent risks, adapt to changed risk situations and tackle the consequences of disasters. It shall support voluntary work and other activities of social and societal relevance. The Foundation shall have no political or religious allegiance, pursue no commercial purpose and seek no profit.

Zahana in Madagascar is dedicated to participatory rural development, education, revitalization of traditional Malagasy medicine, reforestation, and sustainable agriculture. It is Zahana's philosophy that participatory development must be based on local needs and solutions proposed by local people. It means asking communities what they need and working with them collaboratively so they can achieve their goals. Each community's own needs are unique and require a tailor -made response

Our Mission life is just unfair, we are trying to adjust that imbalance by providing the most basic of human rights: clean water, sanitation and education in remote rural African villages, so children living in poverty do not die needlessly and live to have a real future. We want to reach 100 rural Ghanaian villages by 2016, through collaboration and sustainability.

Who We Are The Foundation for Women's Health, Research and Development - FORWARD - is an African Diaspora women's campaign and support charity (registered in the UK). We exist to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights as central to the wellbeing of African women and girls. We work with individuals, communities and organisations to transform harmful practices and improve the quality of life of vulnerable girls and women. FORWARD was established in 1983 in the UK, in response to the emerging problems caused by female genital mutilation being seen by health professionals. Since this time FORWARD has been working to eliminate the practice and provide support to women affected by FGM. At our twenty year review FORWARD formally incorporated into its mandate other issues allied to Female Genital Mutilation, in particular vesico-vagina and recto-vagina fistulae and child and forced marriage. We are a southern-based global network that builds and strengthens movements for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and justice. Our work is grounded in the realities of those who most lack economic, social and political power. Through critical analysis and strategic actions, we connect members and allies, build knowledge, organise campaigns and share resources. WGNRR works to realise the full sexual and reproductive health and rights of all people, with a particular focus on the most marginalised. We believe that achieving this goal requires transformative social change.

MAITS is an international disability charity whose mission is to improve the lives of some of the world's poorest people with developmental disabilities and the lives of their families, through better access to and quality of health and education services and support. We provide education, training and support for those working with and caring for persons with developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism and global learning disabilities to ensure they are able to achieve their full potential in a way that is sustainable and inclusive. We support people with disabilities in the following ways: The training of healthcare and education professionals, community workers, families and carers- to better understand their conditions and build their skills and knowledge to ensure persons with disabilities have better access to and improved quality of services. The development of training materials and resources on disability- the training materials are tested out and adapted to the local context, and when needed, translated into the local language, to ensure high quality care for those with disabilities. Linking organisations that need training with those who are able to provide it- through our website and through our database of 208 volunteer therapists and educators. In addition to facilitating face-to-face training, MAITS has an ongoing programme of resource development, designing tools that assist in the support and inclusion of individuals with particular needs, whether it be at home, school, in healthcare provisions or elsewhere in the community, in low-resource settings. We have a small team of specialists who create resources and we connect those looking for training with those who can provide it. Our mission is to improve the lives of some of the world's poorest people with developmental disabilities and the lives of their families, through better access to and quality of health and education services and support.
