Our mission is to provide a nation-wide mentorship, scholarship and good citizenship programmes that provide a comprehensive range of opportunities to allow our youths to develop the skills, knowledge and competence required to ensure Nigeria becomes the most developed in Africa and one of the most economically viable nation in the world. We work with partners in Nigeria and around the world to improve the quality of education at the grassroots, particularly, in public secondary schools by identifying and motivating talented students as well as enhancing school/classroom environment. The Foundation for Access to Rights-FAR is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization founded by Ph.D. attorney-at-law Valeria Ilareva in the public interest in 2013. Our mission is to guarantee practical access to rights and effective protection against arbitrary deprivation of rights. We stand for the establishment of effective mechanisms to ensure access to rights in practice and effective protection against arbitrary deprivation of rights; increasing the institutional and public awareness, sensitivity and commitment to the need to address systemic problems in access to fundamental human rights in Bulgaria; development of a favourable legislative environment in line with European and international standards for the protection of human rights and the establishment of best practices on access to rights. Our main activities are: LEGAL AID We provide legal aid to migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and stateless people in situations revealing systemic problems in access to rights where the solution of these problems would lead to enhanced social justice. Our lawyers provide legal consultations, written opinions and assistance, and procedural representation before judicial and administrative bodies. RESEARCH We conduct independent professional research on access to rights in Bulgaria. ADVOCACY Through advocacy events and meetings and the production of media campaigns, we increase the institutional and public awareness, sensitivity and commitment to the need to address systemic problems in access to fundamental human rights. Thus we contribute to developing a favourable (legislative) environment in line with European and international standards for protecting human rights and establishing best practices on access to rights. SHARING KNOWLEDGE Informing the public and the media about the findings and recommendations of studies conducted, as well as on the existence of barriers to access to rights. Providing training, printed and digital resources for students, lawyers, judges, volunteers, and the staff of institutions working with refugees and immigrants.

RAID exposes corporate wrongdoing, environmental harm and human rights abuse. As an innovative charity, we partner with those harmed to hold companies to account. Through rigorous investigation, advocacy and the law, we seek to strengthen regulation of business and bring justice for those harmed.

To STIMULATE youth and CSO participation in social and political affairs, increase their influence on decision making process and raise the accountability of the public institutions. To CREATE an alternative dialogue platform for meetings, discussions and debates for representatives of civil society, youth, academia and field of culture, media, policy makers and public figures. To RAISE issues of public concern and create a new field for comprehensive discussions on these issues. To BUILD the capacity of youth, civic activist groups and media representatives and promote development of legally conscious and demanding civil society.

Over 600 million Indians defecate in the open every day because they have no toilet. This practice cripples health, economic, and social outcomes. Open defecation (OD) causes the spread of infectious diseases that kill an estimated 300,000 children under five every year. The economic costs of OD total nearly $54 billion lost each year in India, with rural households bearing the highest per capita loss. Furthermore, women and girls who lack convenient access to toilets often miss school and work while they are menstruating. SHRI ends open defecation in India by constructing community toilet facilities that are free to use. They include eight toilets for women, eight for men, hand-washing stations, and a biogas digester (a large underground tank). Human excrement is stored in this tank where it decomposes to produce methane gas. SHRI uses this energy source to produce electricity, which powers a water filtration plant that uses a patented resin filter to remove arsenic, fluoride, iron, and bacterial contaminants. The resulting potable water is sold for $0.008 per liter, less than half the current market cost, helping SHRI to generate revenue to offset its monthly facility O&M costs. This ensures facility cleanliness, a key predictor of sustained toilet use. Thus SHRI fights alongside rural Indian communities to end open defecation as a key step in the struggle for health equity, and social and economic justice.
