COLUMBUS ALLIANCE FOR BATTERED WOMEN IS A SHELTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN AND PROVIDES EMERGENCY SHELTER, SECURITY, CRISIS INTERVENTION, AND ADVOCACY FOR ADULT AND CHILD VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
Through educational, economic, social, psychological, and legal support, we empower women to break free from cycles of violence. We inform, educate, and encourage citizens to engage in activism aimed at reducing discrimination against women, especially Roma women. We influence public policies and train the public sector to contribute to a systemic response to violence against women and girls, as well as the prevention of early child marriages.
Mi Espernaza offers free educational opportunity to women living in extreme poverty in Honduras. We also provide financial banking opportunities through micro-credit loans to women who are un-bankable in the traditional banking world with the goal to break the cycle of poverty for women and their children.
Cowichan Women Against Violence Society's (CWAVS) main purpose is to provide shelter and a range of services for women and children seeking safety and responding to physical or sexual abuse or violence. Services include a transition house for women seeking shelter from an abusive situation; crisis support; women's support group; counselling, information and support for women; community-based victim services; children's counselling and groups; pre-employment services for women facing barriers to independence related to past abuse or trauma; prevention activities; and community development activities designed to promote safety, develop capacities, provide community voice, and connect community members with local government and organizations. CWAVS also provides information, support and public education to community organizations and agencies about violence against women and children; and works collaboratively on mutual community goals.
The mission of Women for Change Coaching Community is to make coaching accessible for all women seeking positive change in their lives. Currently we serve women across the United States and Canada who have an annual adjusted gross income of $40,000* or less. (*other incomes may qualify based on a sliding scale)
Home of Grace for Women is a faith‑based residential and outpatient substance‑use recovery program for adult women. They run a structured 12‑week / 90‑day program with counseling, group therapy, Bible studies and aftercare resources designed to help women recover, restore family relationships, and re‑enter the workforce.
