Wish Bone Canine Rescue's mission is based on Nathan Winograd's No Kill Philosophy, which states that all healthy and treatable homeless companion animals have the right to live. Only animals that are too sick, irremediably suffering or too injured to be rehabilitated, or animals that are too vicious with a poor prognosis for rehabilitation should be euthanized. Their mandate is to:· Rescue, provide care for and rehome homeless dogs.
With Your Help, We Save Lives Their mission is to spread the idea that all life is significant and worthwhile. They started their pet rescue focusing on pets considered “un-adoptable” that are generally not accepted into traditional rescues due to illness, injury, behavioral issues, age, breed and/or appearance. Knowing that with some care and time, most pets CAN find a home. It just takes work to find the right fit.

Cozze Paws Rescue mission is to save dogs in need, often from high kill shelters. Including medical dogs, seniors and pregnant mommas. We have them fully vetted including spay/neuter and shots, then work on finding the right home for them. We support our fosters and adopters to make sure the dogs adjust to their new environment . We are a volunteer based rescue, so all donations go directly to saving lives.

Our mission is to be a voice for captive exotic birds and to promote unity within the avian community. We work to fulfill our mission by providing a safe haven for abused or unwanted exotic birds (regardless of species, age, special needs or behavior issues), re-socializing and re-homing eligible companion parrots, and providing educational resources to the avian community. We firmly believe (as do many other animal rights and animal welfare organizations) that animals are not ours to exploit for entertainment or profit, and thus, they should not be bred for these purposes. However, we recognize that there is a diverse range of opinions regarding this issue.
CEMINA ( Communication, Education, Information and Adaptation) is a not- for- profit organization founded in 1990 to empower women and communities through the use of the radio. Over the years CEMINA has created 400 women's radio programs and has been awarded with various prizes. The radio model, created by CEMINA, is considered a social technology and has been disseminated not only in Brazil but in other countries as well. Since 2007, CEMINA has shifted its focus from radio to the capacity building for social start ups and education for adaptation to climate change. One of its main projects is Adapta Sertao ( www.adaptasertao.net) which aim is to develop a social technology that benefits the population of small underserved towns in the semi-arid region of Brazil. The project consists in articulating a group of social technologies that use scare resources such as water and arable land to guarantee the livelihoods of the local communities especially small farmers. The project has received very prestigious awards such as the 2008 SEED Award. It has also been recognized as a best practice by UN Habitat. CEMINA also supports a children- youth program at Favela Julio Otoni. The program offers a series of benefits for children with ages between 6 and 14 years old. The idea is to offer these children the new possibilities of seeing and actualizing the world. The program is done with volunteers.
GDLRR was started in December 2004 by a group of business women who saw a need in the Dayton Ohio area. In the last six months, they have branched out and now have numerous fosters in Columbus OH as well. Due to the popularity of the Labrador Retriever in the US and rated as AKC's most popular breed for the last 15 years, has caused over breeding. They help to find homes for these unwanted dogs by placing them in a loving foster caregiver's home until a permanent home can be found. They feel by having dogs in a home environment, they can share information about the dog and assist in getting the dog crate trained, basic obedience, socialization skills, and housebreaking.
Our primary goal is to provide a second chance for companion parrots. We will work to rehabilitate birds who have behavior issues. We do not breed, buy, or sell parrots! We feel that all feathered family members deserve a second chance to find a home and a loving family to join. Each home is carefully screened, and investigated in person, to help assure that each placement is as smooth and well suited as possible. No bird is adopted to a person it shows an obvious dislike for, and no person is allowed to adopt a bird before completing placement visits and screening in order to ensure each bird is place in the right home. We strive to provide the local community with educational programs that enlighten community members about the various birds and the commitment required to care for them. We also strive to provide routine field trips that will further enrich the educational awareness and potentially improve relations between the community and Second Chance Bird Rescue.
