Founded in 2019, The Cat Lounge™Rescue and Adoption Center strives to reimagine the shelter experience by creating a living room environment where cats are free to roam around and interact with the public. We rescue cats from high kill shelters throughout Southern California and partner with shelters to provide a safe haven for cats that would have been euthanized otherwise. We hold a public forum to educate the community on the importance of adoption, while giving them a setting to see our work in action. We provide full medical care and socialization for every cat we take under our care. We are an all-women owned and operated non-profit organization, bringing our skills together to save lives together!
VWB/VSF works on big picture challenges of nutrition, disease and gender equality by concentrating on small, workable solutions. We partner with local communities and other non-profit organizations to deliver on the ground programs that focus on creating stable, sustainable communities and improved health for animals, people and the environments in which they live. Given the right tools and knowledge, women, children and families can transform their lives; these improvements are then replicable in adjacent communities, benefiting people around the world. Established in 2005, VWB/VSF-Canada works with governments, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, local communities, farmers' groups, and international agencies to tackle root-cause issues affecting public health, animal health and ecosystem health in developing communities around the world.
Everyone thinks that some agency, probably a government funded one, protects and cares for wild animals in distress. This is not the case at all! Although in Canada and in the U.S. wildlife is legally protected by Federal and Provincial (or State) agencies, no government agency is responsible for the rescue, treatment and release of injured or orphaned wildlife. Cochrane Ecological Institute's Swift Fox Reintroduction programs began in 1972 under the direction of Beryl and Miles Smeeton. Since that time 0ver 800 Swift fox were reintroduced to the Canadian Prairie. This has resulted in the Species being downlisted by the Canadian Government from Extirpated to Endangered. WHALEFORCE was started, by the CEI, in 1988 as an international Cetacean survey using blue-water and coastal racing and cruising yachtsmen/women as participants. NEW for 2007: Visit www.happytailsretreat.com to see how your pet can help wildlife in need.

He was a victim of the national opioid crisis in America and did not receive the help he needed. Broken Wings want to restore lives to people who are broken by addiction and mental health / trauma. We offer services in the Orlando area with emphasis on women and children suffering from opiod addiction/ substance abuse and other mental health challenges. Curently we provide services including outpatient office based therapy, animal and garden therapy. Once our residential home is purchased, clients can come and heal in a safe holistic environment (body, mind and spirit). Therapeutic interventions will aim to get at the root cause of addiction/ mental health and seek healing from triggers with effective interventions to avoid relapse. Interventions include: animal therapy, garden therapy, EMDR, talk therapy, group therapy, therapeutic massage, spirituality, develooping life skills, nutrition education and a twelve step program with family involvement. Then, after a client graduates from our program we want to follow them for life. We believe that recovery is a life long process and want to stand by our alumni. Feed The World's mission is to empower poor smallholder farm families to feed themselves and provide for the future through sustainable farming. Guiding Principles - Seeds of Dignity and Hope are planted in the hearts of our smallholder farm families as they work together to provide for themselves and build a better future. Transparency & Accountability means that we will do exactly what we promise to do in the communities we serve and that we will be open and honest with our donors in communicating how funds are being used. Lasting Self Reliance is achieved as families obtain sufficient knowledge and education, manage resources wisely, and prepare for the future so that they will continue to thrive after our support ends. Sustainable Farming is practiced by smallholder farm families as they plan, plant, and harvest food for themselves and their livestock, while building human capacity to recognize and enhance the efficient use of their natural resources. Nutrition & Income are the core benefits to smallholder farm families as they grow and produce foodstuffs that provide for a nutritionally balanced diet on an economically sustainable basis. Scientifically Proven Methodology guides the implementation of agricultural best practices with our smallholder farm families and on our demonstration farms. We also support further scientific research through partnerships with universities, governments, and other non-governmental organizations (NGO's). Mutual Respect is the goal of our in-country agronomists, nutritionists, and animal scientists as they interact with smallholder farm families, seeking to understand the "why" behind traditional practices, and always exploring new possibilities. Training & Education in sustainable farming, nutrition, food preparation, and hygiene are key to ensuring that lasting self reliance is achieved by smallholder farm families. Honoring Culture means that our programs work within the local cultural framework to empower and educate smallholder farm families without imposing an outside culture on them. Family Focus involves both women and men in all aspects of decision making, training, and education; and keeps children and parents united and working together on their land. Feeding the Spirit means that while Feed the World does not identify itself with one particular religion or belief system, we honor the spirituality of all human beings and serve all program participants irrespective of their beliefs or social station. Pay It Forward means that we expect our smallholder farm families to pass on their seeds, stock, and knowledge to other families in need once they have successfully provided for themselves.
