The mission of the Disability Rights Fund is to support Disabled Persons Organizations in the developing world to take the lead in advocating for the human rights of persons with disabilities at local and national levels, utilizing the mechanism of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Our vision is of a world where persons with disabilities participate fully in society and enjoy equal rights and opportunities.

jhr was co-founded in 2002 by Ben Peterson and has become Canada’s largest international media development organization. jhr’s unique approach to training local African journalists to voice important human rights issues is changing the way local media is reporting on human rights, and as a result, changing the lives of people in need. Working in post-conflict countries where human rights are most at risk - including the Congo (DRC), Sierra Leone and Liberia - jhr reaches 20 million people regularly with human rights information. In Canada, jhr has established 25 Chapters (and counting) at universities and high schools across the country, with the goal of promoting human rights awareness at the campus and community level. From producing media, to organizing events, to fundraising, jhr Chapter Members are working towards making everyone around the world aware of their rights.
CRY America Inc., an independent 501c3 registered non-profit organization was established in November 2002. CRY America works towards restoring basic rights to underprivileged children, primarily those in India. The idea is to create effective grassroots change movements that empower marginalized communities to build sustainable futures for their children.
