Joyful Opportunity English Education is a nonprofit foundation based in Japan. Our mission is to provide quality English language education to disadvantaged children, ages 2 to 7, growing up in institutional homes. The goal is to increase their emotional intelligence and expand their opportunities when they eventually launch out into the world at age eighteen. JOEE teaches basic English with accurate pronunciation by native-level teachers to give children growing up in institutionalized care in Japan an important advantage. During the JOEE lessons, children learn in a loving and lively atmosphere with puppets, books, songs and games. They are taught the following important truths: I am important. - I am kind. - I am loved. JOEE is a foundation (Ippan Shadan Houjin) recognized by the Japanese government and created by Ruth Ingulsrud who has worked as a teacher at international schools in Japan. Ruth has a background in children's ministry, literature and theater, and holds a Masters of Education, a Clear Credential in Teaching and a Bachelors in Theater Arts. She uses her skills as an educator and puppeteer to bring English instruction to children in orphanages and institutionalized care in a way that actively engages all of the senses. Children are taught basic English words with games that creatively teach proper English pronunciation. Her lessons are packed with songs, action, stories and puppet play enticing children to eagerly embrace the joy of learning a new language. JOEE is currently training new JOEE teachers and we are providing lessons in five care homes in Tokyo, Kobe and Nagoya. The ultimate goal of JOEE is to give disadvantaged children the advantage of learning from a native-level English instructor so that when they exit the care system at age eighteen, they will have basic English language knowledge and good pronunciation skills. This will be a help for them when seeking employment both locally and globally. Besides teaching language skills, the program provides the children with a joyful opportunity to simply have fun with supportive and caring adults. JOEE often works alongside YouMeWeNPO to help these youth launch successfully.

To empower teachers and educate students so that all school-aged children grow up to become economically and financially responsible employees, parents, citizens, and leaders in the future. The ACEE envisions a world where all school-aged children are empowered through economic and personal financial literacy to make informed and rational choices throughout their lives as consumers, savers and investors, workers, entrepreneurs, citizens, and participants in a global economy.

THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF OTTAWA is a registered non-profit charity that raises private funds to help students in need and at risk of school failure, attending schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Children cannot learn if their basic needs are not met. Children come to school hungry every day. Many of our students face life challenges that place them at risk of school failure. Over 25% of Ottawa's children are living in poverty. We provide funding in emergency situations, for food and clothing, or medication, when a family is in financial crisis. The Foundation is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, education and community leaders, and chaired by Mr. Jim Orban, Publisher of the Ottawa Citizen. To transform the lives of children and youth who experience significant challenges that places them at-risk of underachievement and school failure by providing programs and services that (1) address educational, social, cultural, and economic needs; (2) promote educational equity in closing the gap between opportunity and achievement;(3) offer opportunities for experiential learning that improve academic and social skills that will lead to a quality way of life from youth to adulthood.

Community Education Services (CES) Canada is a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing access to education for orphans and other AIDS-affected children in Kenya. Project PREPARE provides access to secondary school aged Kenyan youth who have been orphaned or adversely affected by the HIV/Aids pandemic. The project seeks to build capacity and strengthen public secondary schools within the Lurambi Constituency in the Kakamega Central District of Western Province. This will be achieved through the development and availability of cross curricular teaching strategies in the area of HIV/Aids Awareness and Healthy Living. The project intends to strengthen infrastructure of schools to improve the quality of education and standards of teaching. Foundations: Project PREPARE is based on four key foundation points: EDUCATION, WATER, HEALTHCARE and ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. CES Canada is involved in 30 secondary schools impacting on 8,000 students.

Education Foundation of Anaheim Hills exists to invest in the education of students and empower teachers and administrators to be innovators in learning.

(1) Elimination of gender discrimination and building of a society characterized by diversity and equality. (2) Promotion of an educational environment conducive to gender equity. The Canadian Spine Research & Education Fund (CSREF) is dedicated to providing funding for spine research and education for the purpose of improving the medical treatment of spinal disease and spine injuries; in addition to promoting public awareness and providing education regarding the spine.
