With a solid building and additional collaborating partners who provide meals, clothing and basic school supplies, we at HES focus our energy and resources on teaching and learning. Through student and teacher sponsorships as well as limited unrestricted funds we provide basic schooling for 150 children from the poorest communities of Jacmel in Montessori kindergarten through grade six, allow teachers to pursue limited new learning opportunities, and support related community outreach programs. The Shambhala School was founded in 1993 on the educational view that human beings are inherently good and have the ability to take genuine delight in learning. We believe that all students possess natural intelligence and curiosity. The role of a school and the teachers is to create an uplifted learning environment that acknowledges and cultivates these qualities. The student’s full potential can then blossom through the development of intellect, intuition, humour and self-confidence. Shambhala School is a non-denominational day school with a student body of 150 in grades PrePrimary through 12, guided by a faculty of 18 teachers and a Director.
SEDA is a non-profit, charitable organization with the mandate to assist anyone interested in learning more about debate and speech. SEDA offers Public Workshops, Free Classroom Workshops, Teacher In-services, Instructional and Demonstration Videos, Printed Debate Guides for Students and Teachers, and Pre-made Research Packages. SEDA also coordinates extra-curricular debate for students in grades 6 to 12, as well as university and adult level debate. It is time for Discovery School to take a big step forward. Our vision is of a larger, more well equipped school that will be a resource for children, parents and teachers in Victoria and across Vancouver Island. We want to triple our enrollment to 120 students a year, serve students up till the end of high school, and provide outreach services to parents and teachers across Vancouver Island. To do this, we need more space. Our Discovery School community is very small, so we cannot fund such a large capital investment alone. To achieve our vision of growth, we need your help.
The Mission of the Inside the Outdoors Foundation is to provide financial, educational, and advisory support to the Inside the Outdoors Science Study Programs. Inside the Outdoors programs empower students, teachers, parents and the community through hands-on educational experiences in the natural world to expand their knowledge, understanding and stewardship of the environment.
The HSSM is a charitable, not-for-profit organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency and governed by a Board of Governors made up of elected teachers, parents and interested community members. The Board sets policies and governs the general operations of the School. There is also a Parents’ Association, of which all parents of HSSM students are members, which organizes parent meetings, fund raising and other special events. The HSSM Faculty is comprised of professional musicians, all of whom are highly qualified and Suzuki-trained. All HSSM teachers are members of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. We strive to develop children’s natural love of music and to nurture musical talents for personal enjoyment in a rewarding and vibrant learning environment.
Wood Lake's mission is to provide the public with high-quality experiences in recreation and environmental education programs, act as a teacher/naturalist training facility and provide a high quality, diverse freshwater marsh-oriented nature facility for those programs and for use by individuals and groups seeking unprogrammed natural experiences.

Since 1992, CCLCS has welcomed thousands of immigrants and refugees to Canada by providing high quality English language instruction and orientation to help newcomers settle and adjust to life in Canada. More recently, CCLCS has begun to offer its services to overseas students who wish to learn in a supportive and diverse environment. CCLCS is also a leader in TESL/TEFL training, and one of the first to be recognized by TESL Ontario and TESL Canada. Since 1991, we have trained over 3,000 teachers who have since gone on to teach across Canada and around the world. Whether teaching English or training teachers, we serve our students by respecting their own experiences and helping them share those experiences with others.
The program consists of a series of one-hour classroom visits ideally booked one week apart. Students are introduced to stories, games and role-play that contribute to self awareness, empathy and collaboration. Teachers actively observe both the FIA team and their students, allowing them to deepen their thinking and practice around social competence.
Our motto is "Everyone Counts, Everyone Belongs." Community Builders is a not-for-profit organization established in 1994 to build the leadership capacity of young people in elementary schools. We train students, teachers and parents in anti-bullying, social inclusion, equity and conflict resolution, while raising their awareness of racism, sexism, classism, and other forms of oppression. Our "School of Allies" Youth Leadership Institutes and Leadership Development Workshops give young people the understanding and skills to train their peers and to intervene as allies when people are being mistreated or bullied. We also offer training and support to teachers, parents and administrators. Through skills development and consultation, we guide and support school communities towards making lasting sustainable changes in their school culture, creating more caring and inclusive learning environments.
