The Lifesaving Society is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning. We are a national volunteer organization and registered charity composed of tens of thousands of individual members, and over 4,000 affiliated swimming pools, waterfronts, schools and clubs. The Lifesaving Society is a leader and partner in the delivery of water safety education throughout Canada and around the world. We represent Canada in the Commonwealth Royal Life Saving Society and the International Life Saving Federation. The World Health Organization recognizes ILS as the world authority in the global effort to prevent drowning. The Lifesaving Society takes lead responsibility for drowning prevention in Canada.

The Eating Disorders Information Network is dedicated to the prevention of the physical, psychological, familial, and financial losess caused by eating disorders through education, awareness and early intervention.

The Centre coordinates and undertakes activities to increase awareness of and prevent FASD. Multi-disciplinary, mobile diagnostic teams provide diagnosis, assessment, and intervention for children and adults throughout the region. Training is available about FASD, best practices for professionals and paraprofessionals. The first steps Program provides intensive mentoring and support to high risk pregnant women, assisting them to achieve and maintain sobriety in order to prevent an FASD birth.

The mandate of The Society is to address three key areas: Prevention and Awareness Care and Support Building Community Capacity Since its inception in 1998 the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society has worked to raise community awareness and support regarding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) through a number of activities targeting professionals and community members.
