United Through Reading provides new, high-quality children's books to military households & offers service members the opportunity to be video-recorded reading books to their children for use when the service member is deployed or can't be physically present for storytime - all of the tools needed for a storytime routine. Program participation supports military family resiliency by boosting family morale, reducing stress, and bolstering the literacy development of military children, who are considered an at-risk population due to the unique demands of military life, including frequent family separations, academic disruptions, & interrupted family routines.
