The San Diego Delta Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization founded by professional African American women in 1999 and was incorporated in 2000. Our mission is to support projects and activities which contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for African Americans and residents of San Diego. Empowering Young Women to be Leaders The Leadership Development Intern Program was established by the San Diego Delta Foundation In 2001. The Leadership Program is a three (3) year Program that provides academic and cultural enrichment along with leadership development for African-American girls in grades 10-12 from schools throughout San Diego County. The Program offers a framework in which the Interns can explore leadership opportunities that prepare them to meet the challenges that lie ahead in college and in life. The Foundation is extremely proud of their accomplishments of all the young ladies who have been a part of the Leadership Program.

Ebony Sonshine Inc. (ESI) is an organization to improve the quality of life for our children and youth, especially in the African-American community. Concerned Black Men of Los Angeles (CBMLA) mentors and supports African‑American youth in Los Angeles through one‑to‑one and group mentoring, educational support (tutoring, scholarships, college preparation) and leadership programs aimed at strengthening families and neighborhoods. Their programs (for example “Welcome to Manhood,” “Welcome to Womanhood,” and “Emerging Leaders”) focus on character, education and community development to reduce violence and promote long‑term success for Black youth.
